Joining a fraternity at UCLA?

Hey. I am currently a freshman at UCLA. I am kind of on the fence about the whole fraternity thing. Last night I went to a several fraternities and by and large the guys seemed like the type of guys I would be friends with. I also like going to parties and meeting girls.

The reason I am hesitant is because I want to make schoolwork my number one priority at UCLA. This doesn't mean I want to shut myself in my room 24 hours a day studying, but I don't want to be forced to neglect my schoolwork by my obligation to a fraternity.

How laid back is it? Will I be able to skip some events if I have stuff to do? Thanks.

Did you know that the average gpa for fraternity members is actually higher than for non fraternity members? They actually study, and they do well in their classes.

that may be true, but I would guess that the majors of frat members are less demanding than there non-frat counterparts flopsy face

so you received bids? personally, just talk with the members about it . . .

premed -- unfounded.
