I am interested in William and Mary's joint engineering program. However, I contacted the professor responsible for this program and he told me that William and Mary has lost contact with one of the schools. Is this program unstable? I am unsure whether I should invest myself into the 3 2 program.

@frogger832, did the professor mention which school? Several years ago the program included a few more schools than it does now and we’re just wondering if that might be what’s being referred to.

Yes the professor in charge of 3 2 program mentioned that William and Mary has lost contact with RPI since nobody applied. I really love the idea of this program, however it does not seem very popular. The professor said that on average, only 2 people per year go to Columbia for BS in engineering after receiving a BA at William and Mary. I am afraid that since the program is not very popular, that it will be dropped.

@frogger, as far as we know we don’t plan to drop the program but you can certainly follow up with the professor you’ve been in contact with and ask that follow-up question. We can tell you anecdotally that many students find they don’t want to graduate early from W&M which might explain why so few students go through the program. We do believe more students end up doing a 4:2 program instead (going to Columbia or RPI for a master’s after spending 4 years at W&M).
