Can someone tell me about the journalism program here?
One of my daughter’s majors is Mass Communications through the School of Journalism. She applied to the JSchool at the end of her first year and was accepted. About 50% of first year applicants are accepted after freshman year, with a smaller percentage accepted after sophomore year. From what she tells me, students either concentrate on the reporting side or the advertising side. She went with advertising. She’s enjoyed the classes and the professors but complains the career advising is nearly non-existent.
