journalism major

hi. so looking at the posts from others, it seems like a lot of people are interested in journalism too.
im interested in journalism but i seriously really don't know what its like; ive never had any experience with it or anything. i just started watching the news one day and said 'hey, it'd be cool to be an anchor woman'.
but a lot of you seem to be worrying about the starving writer thing? is that really such a big problem for writers? is it that hard to get jobs?
and could you guys please recommend some good school for journalism/communications near new york or in the tristate, new england ish area?
i already checked up northwestern and stuff, but i don't really want to go to a school with complete journalism concentration because then i would absolutely have to do it. i don't really know what i want yet.
well anyways, as you can see, i am very scared about the direction my life might be going in, so a little bit advice would be very helpful. thanks!

Well, if you're worried about having a job after or not sure if you want to go through it I suggest taking an intro course in Journalism or minoring in it. The way I see it, Major in something that you're sure you can get a job after then minor in something that interests you, in this case, Journalism.

Good Luck!
