journalism majors...where are you transfering?!

well, i wasn't accepted to unc-chapel hill journalism. oh well. i'm most likely gonna go to indiana university-bloomington for journalism. they have an awesome program as well, so im not too bummed about the other rejection. where is everyone else going?

bloooooooooop!!!

applied to usc and northwestern.

most likely will get into usc and attend.

moderate chance of getting into northwestern, depending on if medill accepts any transfers for fall this year.

not to discourage you, but i heard it's a ***** trying to transfer into the communications department. a real *****.

at usc or northwestern?

and why?

Its hard to get into comm at a lot of places.

USC is difficult but not impossible. A reasonable gpa, expressed interest in the field, and lower-division completion is usually what it takes for transfers. Im considering it a backup at this point. I saw your stats in another USC thread, you should be fine.

UCLA on the other hand...sigh. Simply too many people and too few spaces. Granted its not straight journalism, but yeah. Its much harder to get into LA's comm department than it is into SC's due to the whole public thing. At least at USC they consider your activity in the field, extra curricular work, and letters of rec. At LA its all fairly arbitrary.
We shall see.

Anyways. I applied for communications at UCLA, USC, UCSD, and UCSB. In at SB.
