well i attempted to get into NYU with a 3.7 and failed -__- but i got into Binghamton and Fordham as a transfer student from Seton Hall business school. I already decided Fordham over Binghamton since its closer to the city, my family, and my job as a diamond setter. My question is this,
I have the means to pay for Fordham ( i didn't apply to FASFA or w.e its called cause my family is blessed and lives a comfortable life), My issue is, I'd hate to make my parents pay for the school if it isn't a whole lot better than Seton Hall. Currently seton hall is ranked 86th with is terrible since it was like 56 2 years ago. Fordham is at 52 (not the greatest like NYU but certainly much better).
Basically is the education and connections worth the difference of 20k if my family has the means to pay for it?? ( i never lived at Seton hall and will be living at Fordham so it'll be more expensive)

i’m assuming since you were in the business school at seton you’re transferring into the gabelli business school? if so, it’s definitely worth it. we have a great business program with wonderful connections, i know a lot of the business majors have great internships and many of them get jobs right out of college. our name is definitely becoming more well known and prestigious, and of course the location is great.

you should definitely consider Fordham. Rankings should not be given much importance but Fordham was ranked 27th in Businessweek, just a couple of years ago. The Businessweek rankings are known to fluctuate significantly from year to year. The Gabelli School of Business will rise again very soon, as its facilities score will increase a lot, since Hughes Hall, which used to house students, is now being renovated into a state of the art business school which will open its doors in Fall of 2012. Fordham is in NYC, so yes many internships, more job opportunities. Plus the Jesuit education Fordham offers is special and excellent.

To be honest Id stick with Seton Hall. Fordham isnt THAT great. I mean its a good school…but for 20k more? NYU is almost the same exact price and a much better school. Fordham is just that price because its private and in NYC. The only reason I would have to transfer to Fordham for 20k more is the want/need to be in the middle of NYC. If you really love it and need to be in that atmosphere you should do it. But if your not personally in love with the city or feel any real need to live there it doesnt really make sense.
