Jsa

Is anyone doing the junior statesmen summer school program? I'm thinking about it, but I'm not sure. Has anyone done it before that enjoyed it or got something out of it?

i went to the georgetown summer school last year. i think georgetown is the best one, because you get to go into DC pretty often. i met a bunch of famous politicians (rumsfeld, hillary clinton, ted kennedy, mccain etc)

the class i took was foreign policy, and it was very intersting. my teacher was awesome! if you can pay for it, id say go.

No offense intended, but this goes for all CC members:

The question you have has probably been asked before. Try searching for it!

I got into Yale, but I picked Harvard's SSP over JSA, and the costs are within $100 of each other, if you do a short session at Harvard. I know several others who have made the same choice.

Oh that's interesting. Thanks for the comments. I was just accepted to the Yale one, but I waiting to see if I can get a scholarship. Is it all about Politics because I'm more into the leadership aspect of it.

Anyone is accepted as long as you have the money on the most part ... I went to the Stanford JSA '05! WHOOT! Luckily I was able to pay very little for it due to my financial situation.

I'm going to the georgetown session 2 this year.

I went to Princeton last summer, you don't meet really meet that many politicians as you do at gtown, but you get to go to the UN, which is kinda cool. The day I went on of the speakers was supposed to be the Russian ambassador to the UN, but this was also the day of the London terrorist attack, so he was called away to a security council meeting. But its a good program, you get to sleep alot during class and the professors don't care.

i was able to get a lot of money because i held a leadership position in the school year JSA program. that definitely helped my decision. i also liked that georgetown was only 3 weeks, so i could still hang out with friends, go on vacation with my family, etc

my D did jsa last summer in Georgtetown- session 2 - it was great!!!!

They really lived up to what they said they would do

My D met so many people, and had a blast

does anyone know if you get college credit?

Well most of the courses you take there are AP courses, so if you take the test in May you could get credit. I took the test, but I had to study a lot because i forgot most of the stuff, i dont think i did that well.
