i was thinking about applying to the business internship, but I don't want to waste the money for nothing.

tnb, I went the Julian Krinsky Internship program at UPenn last summer. It was probably the best decision I have ever made. I applied specifically for an internship in Investment banking and ended up at Navigant Capital Advisors working with some of the coolest guys ever. My bosses were awesome. Some of my other friends who applied to the business internship went to Goldman Sachs, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Deutsche bank among many other firms. The people you meet there come from all around the world, although it seems like half come from New York. Your weekends are really fun, where on saturdays you usually go on trips, and on sundays you are free to explore the city with friends as long as you are back in your dorms by curfew (either 11pm or 12am) and are allowed to stay up as long as you want, although on weekdays you are usually wiped out by then anyways. It was definately worth every penny.
