It is so worth it to find out for $8...anyone else doing this?

In my opinion, I’d rather not waste 8 bucks. The scores aren’t going to change if you find them out 3 weeks early, and since summer is here, why not enjoy it before having to deal with your AP scores. However, if you are stressing over your scores and it’s negatively affecting you from the stress, maybe finding out early will let you get over it and move on towards next year. It’s really your own opinion whether or not it’s worth it.

I am. I’m going to orientation about a week later (so, well before they would be mailed out), and to register for classes I’d like to have a concrete score for all the exams I took. Definitely worth the eight bucks in a case like this, but last year I just waited for the mailing.

im not gona call; im on vacation XD

I’m calling, I think. I have orientation in a few weeks so I’m hoping the scores will be available before then.

I’m going to call this year. I’m too anxious for some reason compared to last year.

I am going to be away from home for all of July. This means I am calling as soon as I can. I am also super anxious this year… I don’t know why, but it is only JUNE 11th and I can’t stop thinking about my scores.

(My parents are going to be gone too, so they can’t just call and tell me.)

is there a way to get your scores through the phone without knowing your ap number? i dont have my student packet.

^ I think you can use your SSN, but I’m nost sure.

Honestly, it’s not worth it. I called last year and at first was so excited when I heard my scores. But as soon as you finish and hang up the phone, you really wonder why you wasted $8 because you were so impatient. Plus there’s more suspense when you have the letter in your hand in July and you have to open it instead of just being told what you got.

I didn’t call last year and of course I was curious when everyone else was getting their scores and I didn’t have mine, but it wasn’t terrible, and it certainly wouldn’t have been worth $8 not to wait.

I’m going to wait again this year. I was considering calling so I could do course selection with that info, but decided against it.

You definitely can use your SSN. I used mine last year.

I don’t feel as anxious over my scores this year as last year (probably because I studied a lot less for 5 exams than I did last year for 3), but I’ll be calling in so I can register for classes appropriately.

I wish I could wait, though, and get the feeling of seeing all my scores at once by opening the letter instead of hearing my scores one by one. haha

hmm I’m probably going to pay the 8 bucks, its not that expensive and I like finding these things out early.

When in July are the regular scores mailed?

Mid-july. I think I got mine on July 15th last year. So you really only have to wait two extra weeks…

if i remember correctly, the scores were available like two days earlier than they said they would be last year…

will unemployment cards work for receiving scores by phone?

I wish they were available now. Son has orientation this weekend and doesn’t know what credits he has

Having orientation and selecting classes with out APs in hand is a problem; can you reschedule?

I have never called for my scores before, but this year I am so that my college schedule will be ready ahead of time.

I realize that it is $8 to call… do they ask for a credit card number over the phone, or do they send you a bill?

Nevermind, I have my answer:

You will need the following information before calling:

AP number. Your AP number can be found in your AP Student Pack or grade report. Important: We encourage you to save your AP number and AP Student Pack in the event that you wish to access AP Automated Grade Reporting Services.
Social security number, if you provided this on your answer sheet
Date of birth
Exam year that corresponds with your AP number
The appropriate four-digit college code(s), if you’re requesting to send grades to colleges. College codes can be found in your AP Student Pack or online by searching for the college at the College Board’s Colleges and Scholarships search page.
A valid credit card number (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa)
