Puritans in 16th century - Separatists; broke completely with England

I read this on page 12. Puritans wanted to purify the Anglican church -- not separate from it. The separatists were the Pilgrims.

That's where the "Puri" from Puritans came from, honestly :).

can anyone consolidate all the answers that have been discussed so far to make one list

What about the question that contrasted hamilton and jefferson? What did you put for that?

hamilton = loose interpretation
jefferson = strict

is that right

^ yes, that's right. It was choice A.

I finished the test with 10 mins leftover but there were some questions that I was not exactly certain of. Does anyone know the score conversion table or the curve for the US History SAT II? What is the raw score for getting above 600, 700, 800 say? I studied for the test using my APUSH book which of course doesn't say anything about the score.

colonial cities 25,000 -->who confirmed that?

what about the one haymarket pullman homestead - were they all labor conflicts between owner workers?

also, indian removal - was it 1/4 of cherokess died trail of tears?

also colonial pop decimated because mostly of disease right?

It's definitely the cities < 25K one (unfortunately for me). I checked, and only Philadelphia had more than 25000 inhabitants prior to 1776 (colonial times).

And yea, those were all the sites for major strikes.

what exactly was the question on the puritans wanting to purify the anglican church? i dont remember one like that...

As far as the curve goes, according to my Kaplan book, you can omit 9 and still get an 800. I dont know how accurate this is, but I think that's being a little too generous.

Yes to the 1/4 of cherokees dying on trail of tears
and yes to the decimation of colonial pop. due to disease.

Is it confirmed that the mickey mouse tv question has the answer - decline of American education?

What was true about the Indian Removal Policys effects on Indians in the 1830's? I said it caused deaths from the trail of tears...

I don't see how a kid drawing mickey mouse represents advanced technlogy...

What DIDN't charecterized northeastern cities in the late 19th century. I said picture palaces because I thought movies wern't created until the booming 20's (there was also department store)

For the matching muckrakers/reform during the Progressive era question..was the answer Upton Sinclair's Jungle / Meat Inspection Act of 1906?

yea i think it was upton sinclair, he wrote the book during the progressive era

I was pretty disgusted by this test. I just think it focused on all the wrong things. If this is the information the Collegeboard feels one should know to have a firm grasp on American History, well...

It was really easy for me. The only one I didn't know was the art school one and the Lewis and Clark. Another one I got wring was the zoot suit riot one. I thought the correct answer was a later riot that happened in the 60's that was about school walkouts.

AP was harder, of course.

In which colony was religion least important (or something like that)?

Virginia?

yea Virginia is right

Really? I thought AP was easier.
