SAT II U.S History...how hard???

how hard is it compared to APUSH????? i'm taking it next week and i just took the AP exam two weeks ago. i don't know what to expect next week. any advise on the difficulty and how it is like? how many questions are there btw?

It's like the multiple choice section of the AP test. Nothing to be really worried about. It's 95 questions.

95 Qs in an hour? is it strictly an hour or do the proctors not care? cuz i barely finished all 80 Qs during the AP testing

SAT II US History doesn't exactly overlap with APUSH, but if you've done well in APUSH for a year you should find the SAT II to be just fine.

Read the AMSCO and you'll be fine. I knew the answer to all but like 3 questions and read the AMSCO up to the 1920's a week or two before. In my opinion, it is one of the easier subject tests, especially if your a history buff like me ;).

I'll let you know tomorrow exactly how easy it is though (I took it in May).

It wasn't too bad actually...

Why does college board say it's "90-95" multiple choice questions? All the practice tests in my Kaplan book only have 90 questions too!

Get the SAT 2 U.S. History For Dummies book.

Just read through a prep book and get used to the questions on the SAT II. The content is easier, but I thought the questions were trickier (or at least different enough from the AP questions). There's more analyzing data that was confusing when you first looked at them, but pretty easy once you figured it out.

i got a 500 on US history SAT...but got a 4 on the exam O_o

^ are you serious? so it's harder?? but i heard from some of the juniors in my school who took the AP exam and the SATII last year, and they were like, "oh it's really easy."

None, what do you mean by "analyzing data"?

I thought it was about the same.
I only prepared in the sense that I took it in June after I had taken the AP, I didn't do any additional prep for SAT II. I got a 5 and a 790. I'd say those correlate pretty well.

I don't think SAT II US History would be harder than APUSH. So if you do well in the AP course, you'll do even better in the SAT II, unless you happen to have a bad day. US History involves only with multiple choice-no essays or analytical thinking-therefore, much memorization and knowledge are needed and only necessary.

I took it this May, so about two weeks before the AP. I hadn't started studying fully yet - I'm a slacker - and I was panicking during the test, because I didn't like no any questions. It turned out to be the same way on the AP, but I had studied a lot then, so the SAT II was probably easier. Nevertheless, even though I felt like I didn't know so many questions, I got a 760.

So you'll be fine.

Analyzing data means they'll give you a graph or a chart and you have to interpret it. Those are confusing if you never seen them before. I got a 5 on the AP exam but only about a 600 on the first SAT II practice test. It improved to 800 on exam day.

Yeah, just do a review and you'll be fine, thats what I did and I got an 800. I looked it up and the curve is pretty descent as well. You can miss like 4-5 questions I think and still get a perfect score.

Did two free practice tests on Sparknotes and got an easy 800. Don't sweat it.

after apush, the satII was a breeze...

sorry to add another question but are the sparknotes sample tests different from the real sat II for u.s.? i know that princeton review tended to be a bit easier than the real ap....

I skipped 2 questions and didn't study for it at all and got a 780.
