June 2008 - Physics

I don'tknow what happened to the other thread but... what did you all think?

frikkin hard. all concept.. barely any formulas required... way harder than sparknotes.

the first half was very good, but then it got harder. I was doing really well timewise for the first half only to end up rushing at the end...

Hopefully the curve is like 13-14 questions for an 800.

What are the usual curves? How do you think raw scores of 64-65 (out of 75) would place?

64-65 would be well within the 800 range

anyone else run out of time...spent way to much of it on one question couldn't finish 9 questions, how many could i have gotten wrong and still get 800? 750?

800: 3-4 more wrong
750: ~10 more wrong

Whew that was a hard test... too much concept, nearly ran out of time. If i get below 700, im retaking it in the fall

this test was MUCH harder than the CB one. I'm sadly thinking that i got around 20 wron, which makes it even worse bc. i owned ush and math.

Ugh, i had terrible time management at the beginning. I had to make up for it by going faster through the latter part of the test. i still finished but i was not very happy.

^^

Same as above. I was not going fast enough in the beginning and had to rush the end to make it to all 75. This was partially because the clock in the room had stopped working so there was no way to see what time it was. The only thing the proctor would do was to announce every 20 min passed. In the end, I saw that I had skipped 9 questions.

What are the usual curves for an 800? The sparknotes book says its an 800.

skze:where do you get the confident that you got all others right? I feel like I 'm open to tons of mistakes, due to carelessness, vague questions, and not being adept to the concept >.<

That was a killer. Much harder than any practice tests I've seen.

Way too many concepts and not enough calculations.
I thought it was harder than Sparknotes and Kaplan....

Wait, isn't the raw score out of 85?

wis3ly 75. There are 75 questions on the test

^
Umm...dude, it's out of 75.

hahahah did you seriously take the test today and bubble in answers up to 85?? lol that would suck so much.

At first it was easy but last 10-15 questions were killers , i head sooooo many blanks, hopefully ill get at least low 700s..

I've been prepping for this for a while, and I noticed usually there are tons of "Modern Physics" questions, and this time, I noticed only a few, one being a photoelectric effect one. I didn't think this was terribly difficult, but I severely doubt I got anywhere near an 800, prolly more like a 700-730.
