June 2008 - Physics

i love how sometimes each question is worth 2 points. like if you have 5 wrong that's a -6 and if you get 6 wrong it's a -8

i guess my chance for an 800 has gone down the drain....but really, did anybody know how much we can get a wrong and still get an 800? like, the blue CB says --13 is still 800, but since this test is much harder, maybe this test is where if u miss more than 13, u still can get an 800?

when you say MISS 13 does that mean get 13 wrong or raw score -13

i mean, miss 13 questions

does anybody remember any other questions??do you remember the one about internal energy??what was the xact question??

i also remember one about 100g of smth mix up with 100g of water.water was100degrees the other 10.and equilibrium was near 10.i was between two answers the one said that smth is much denser and therefore water has more volume.the other said about specific heat.i choose thew one with density.what do you think??
it would be very nice to get the number of answers up to 60 so that we heve a clear view.also any1 for the polarizers??

^it is the specific heat
polarized = no light
internal energy = u add the numbers they give u

does any one remember the question with the rocket and the boat i think i said it was when someone throws a rock from the back im not sure really didnt like it

It's definitely the specific heat answer. If you use Q=mcdeltaT both absorbed the same Q and both had the same mass. The only difference is the specific heat.

hey, anyone want to COMPILE and see how many questions we have down?

24.f/m acceleration
25-26-27.waves at the begining one wavelength is in the second inercept,2T is on 2 wavelengths, point b is moving towards the top
28.y=x+ut+1/2att is object in incline
29.p is smaller in magnitude after collision
30.parabolic going towards opposite gharged plate(anyone remember if there was an electron or a proton?i do remember tah the upper plate was+++for sure)
31.tree is 0.025m
32.increase f increase k
33.voltage in parallel resistosr was 3V
34.capacitors store gharge
35.light rays emerging from tha water make a large angle to the normal

37.rocket question throw a stone to make a boat move
38.vertical velocity vs time linear
39-40.the graph where the force is in opposite direction to motion and that with the smaller magnitude of acceleration where the same
41.the distance in the question with two wires was 2L
42.frictional force was 10N
43.all waves undergo diffraction
44.verticall component was Fsin60 and horizontal was Fcos60
45.the highest EMI induced was option d the one at the top of the circle
46.internal energy is 0 in isithermal segmant C
47-48.block on a ramp.PE was decreasing as the blocj is going down and force is increasing
49.a question about efficiency i think the correct answer was 1000J and 30%
50-51.2 questions about Fparallel were easy.the second was 1/2mg if i am right
52.water-metal temperature near water because of special heat
53.the one with the polarizers is no light exists

55.e=v/d and therefore diagram goes..when plates move appart
56.internal energy is 2.5 or 1.5???does anybody remember??

i am angry cuz i cant remember any more.i only recall one about two charges come together but not sure

nice we need 19 more

and one more about waves having the same speed in the sam vacuum??do you remember??or was it on a practice test i did recently so i confuse them??

yes, speed is the same in a vacuum. that's another question!! 18!

well grade inflati0n do you remember the one with internal energy??or any else?? i am very anxious.what do you think about the curve??i am also pretty sure it had some easy ones in the begining with the diagrams that we heve not listed. do you remember any??or those with a lens and a mirror or just a lense where you had to choose a diagram??

did u add the two numbers? it was like....sample of gas, work done on it, heat added...well...i think it was 2.5 or something

yea it was like that.heat added is2 then work done 0.5 so internal energy??i dont now anything about gases and thermodynamics thats why i ask i just guessed it.

does anyone know the answers for the 2 mirror ones at the beginning?

first one was where the light goes in straight and converges. the second one was where the light goes 90 degrees and diverges

i think the first one was asking for concave one so this was easy.and the other had a convex lense and a plane mirror so i put choice E i think where the rays were going down and passing through a point but i kind of guessed that.what do you think??

i thought the second one was concave?
