June 2010: Biology

@ xxrunning, On the Kansas one, I put that the ammonites could wether colder conditions…though I was stuck between that and “the ages of the rock formations were similar”

Also, On the 3 statement molecule one, did anyone get “the pancreas”

For the C6H12O6, structure was not…

For the first question on math…inference?

On the one where we cant digest cellulose, did anyone put, “because we lack the enzyme…”, I was stuck betwee nthat and beta=glucose, but then I realized it was Alpha, so that statement was wrong.

I disagree with say “all three” for the climate one, because the trees are usually found in lower climates, the experiemtn did not upport the climate (III) result.

really? Then again, I never read the statement completely because i saw the word “predators” and thought predation. Damn maybe you are right.

there was also a question that involved a centromere. i chose the answer that had to do with the centromere attaching the homologues chromosomes togetehr or something along those lines

@ DTF, it was; can anyone confirm what I just wrote?

Ok,
@Ivan
C6h1206 was we can’t tell the arrangement/structure
Cellulose was use more energy to digest then gained, i skipped that though.
Molecule Z was Pancreas

@Fresh
Coevolution :)

@Ivysaur
I put for the cellulose one, because we lack the enzymes

I got pituitary gland for the 3 statement one.

@Fresh
I’m pretty sure its Pancreas because it said it had to have the enzymes to break apart amino acids, and pituitary gland doesn’t do that, right?

oh **** you’re right.

The pituitary gland has no function in releasing digestive enzymes

@Ivysaur
I put for the cellulose one, because we lack the enzymes

yea thats correct.

“I got pituitary gland for the 3 statement one.”

I think i got pancreas if im thinking of the same questoin

so, that’s -6 and 1 omit. Do you think i should cancel?

By the way, this was my second test (took the one in May and got an 800 on Bio-M); this time, however, I took ecology.

I got pancreas as well

the ammonites - I got the similar age one. But it was virtually a guess.

Debating the same as well with 6 wrong and 0 omit. I guess I’ll wait for more answers to come up. If it gets really bad - I might cancel.

i dont think u should ever cancel. worst comes to worst u just dont send the scores

80 - 6 = 74 - 1 = 73 - 1.5 = 71.5 = 72

ehh 72 is pretty good :confused: I don’t think you should cancel but thats just me… Unless your positive you got a bunch of other ones wrong I’d keep it.

For anyone who took ecology, for the ammonites question, what did you put.

Also, for the experiment done with snakes (the last 4 questions), did anyone get snake IV, and, on the ladt question, did anyone get 4…I actually was pressed for time at this point, and it could have been 5.

Was the answer to the question (maybe the 4th one) about the sea anemone and the clownfish ‘mutualism’?

@Ivysaur
My friends who took ecology said it was 4, but that was only one of them so idk.

@Derek
It was mutualism becaues protection <-> Food

@derek. it was mutualism cuz the clownfish was benefiting from the protection of predators while the anemones benefited from the food droppings of the clownfish
