June 2010: Biology

^ I’m not certain. I know I put either 4 or 5, and two more people here said they put 5 so…

Was Anaphase 1 one of the answers?

@islander
yeah it was homologous pairs split during anaphase 1

i remember there was a 3-4 question experiment (one answer was inference, another was hypothesis…(was the one that described the experimenter’s actions Choice A “experiment”

Does anyone know (or have a rough idea) what -8 and 0 omit yields for Bio-E?

I’m pretty sure the graph one was Mitosis and sperm, not meiosis…
I put anaphase 1 down as well.
^^, I didn’t get inference…

Yeah but sperm goes through meiosis doesnt it? or something liek that… What graph did you say anyway?

why was it dna to rna?
i thought it was referring to a retrovirus, which would have to use reverse transcription.
therefore, rna to rna was the simplified answer of retroviruses reverse transcripting their rna into dna and then back into rna to replicate.

What did you put for the conclusion with the different colored moths?

I think one the answers was something like birds could easily see the light colored moths and the other was her results were not valid because she had no control. I put the former.

@derek yea ur right the birds could see the light moths better so her own hypothesis is correct(which is the answer to the next questoin)

I put the graph for sperm where it orginally went up, but ending up being half. This was the only graph where the end was half of the first.

Also, what did you put for the purple seeds question

^ I did the math and got incomplete dominance but not sure.

Oh, I see. For the sperm one, I put a Graph that made the DNA in the cell multiply by four.

It said “incompletely dominant,” which I put.

I put that her hypothesis was right as well.

Does anyone know the basic questions? (Which Organelles aren’t in prokaryotes, etc?)

Below : @ StupidAsian, I put something like the Protein didn’t function correctly. :<
@@jazzyindy: i put A as well.

What was the answer to the one about sickle cell anemia and point mutation?

^^ oh for the sickle cell one I put that that the point mutation causes abnormal development of a protein or function? if I remember correctly it was choice A?

yeah same thing as u jazzy

^that’s probably right, now that i think about it

ah, crap. i think i put like C where it was less development of protein or something.

got the graphs wrong too, i think.

so, er… not so good

anyway, i got 4 for the last question on Bio-E

I’m relatively sure the last snake question (on E) was 4 (since I spent a good 4 minutes doing that one -_-). It was the only one where the heat pit characteristics matched up with either fangs or venom (don’t remember which one) of the snakes that were left.

Why does it take so long for them to grade it? Afterall it is scantron isnt it?

The last one was 4. I did not try 5, but 4 definitely worked and I doubt there would be conflicting answers…?
