June 2010 SAT Results Thread

2170/1430

740 - Critical Reading
690 - Math
740 - Writing (80 MC/6 Essay)

I honestly don’t know if this is a good enough score or not. It’s my first time taking it, so I always have next year if I want to take it again. What really ****ed me off was my essay score of 6. To me, that is complete BS. I mean, I wrote a 1 1/2 page, four paragraph essay with great vocabulary and sentence structure. There might have been a spelling error or two, but I think that it was a pretty good essay. It may not have been a 12, but I think that it was at least a 9 or 10. Anyway, should I retake, or should I just try to score well on the Math II and Physics Subject Tests this October to offset my abysmal math score?

you guys wanna see some improvement i had with no or very little studying haha?

march i got
660 CR
700 Math
610 W

june i got
700 CR
700 Math
800 W

lol 1970—>2200 :D

congrats PetahR

So Happy!

Math: 720
Reading: 740
Writing: 800 (79 MC, 10 essay)

Total: 2260!

My scores aren’t in yet. Is it possible they’re still going to be released today, or are they dramatically delayed?

^ Did you call the College Board?

Nope, turns out I didn’t need to. I just checked again 5 minutes ago and they were there.

740 Reading
680 Math
750 Writing

I’m so happy! I was expecting at least a 2000, and maybe a 2100 if I was lucky. I’m still retaking until 2250 though.

How do you check your essay score?

I got:

730 R
670 M
660 W

That’s a 410 point increase since the last time I took the SAT, so I’m really happy :)

Scores are out, finally.
660 CR
800 M
800 W

The CR totally ruined my score. I’m considering retaking to get 700+, maybe aim for an 800.

did anyone get a perfect score?

^ silenceizsik did.

Wow, suddenly my math and writing scores mean practically nothing.
At any rate, yes, there was one guy somewhere towards the beginning of the thread. Didn’t check much afterwards.

Can anyone tell me why I can’t view (or where I can view) the MC/Essay breakdown for the writing? I really want to know my essay score, see if I got that 12. I don’t feel like waiting til the 29th. Also want to know where my mistakes were in CR. I’m banking on vocab, I literally did those in less than 5 minutes total on the 3 sections. sigh And I thought they were so easy.

How was the CR curve? I think I’ll reiterate my results, since I was half-asleep at 5am.

December 2009 SAT
600 M, 640 CR, 620 W (10 E)
==> 1860

June 2010 SAT
680 M, 710 CR, 750 W (12 E)
==> 2140

The only studying I did was the night before; looking over grammar rules n’ stuff. I’m pretty happy.

I would also like to know where I can view the MC/Essay breakdown for the writing section.

<a href=“Student Score Reports”>Student Score Reports;

^That just redirects me to the “My SAT” page, which only has the numbers and not the breakdown. Already tried it before.

Mine shows my writing multiple choice score and essay score as a subsection for the writing score. Not sure what’s wrong with yours; maybe they haven’t uploaded that information for you yet.

June 2010

720 W
570 M
550 CR

= 1840

March 2010

590 W
600 M
540 CR

= 1730

))))): I want a 2000+. I’ve been taking SAT classes since last summer.

■■■ got a 740 on math even tho last time I got an800 and I got math 2 800

In the span of 3 months, I improved by 250 points! 240 of those points were on the sections that matter! I’ll post my previous scores and my new ones.

CR: 570-730 (soooooooo happy)
M: 660-740
W: 660-670 (minimal increase, but an increase nonetheless)

went from a 1230/1890 to a 1470/2140. Thankfully, the 1470 is all that matters to Cornell!
