@austin23 That is a very useful statistic if it’s true. Source?

@Hawkace
You said retake but I’m fearful that my reading and English scores will fall… Is super scoring a truly viable option?

Superscoring is a very viable option.

Just look up the colleges that superscore the ACT.

Here’s a basic list:
http://www.freetestprep.com/blog/resources/list-of-colleges-and-universities-that-superscore-the-act-test/

@chargers12121

I’m just afraid that if I submit all my scores, schools will super score but be biased in that they see that at one point, I had a 27 on math and science.

@Hawkace

@chargers12121 You will never know if you never try.

Accept the fact that you have a 27 on math and science and move on. Prove to yourself and to colleges that you are better by performing better, Why would schools be biased if you are determined enough to get your top score?

Last question, @Hawkace.

Let’s say I received a 33 on every section next time I take it. Is it possible for me to ONLY submit this score? Would you recommend this so colleges can’t see the 27? Or should I go for the superscored 34?

33C
35E
31M
34R
31S

super surprised about the science score. thought I got at least 34. otherwise, not too bad for first time, no studying. the timing of the test really threw me off, didnt expect it to be so rushed.

This may not seem so great to some of you perfectionists, but I don’t even care. I am so happy!!!

The first time I took the ACT, I got a 25.

JUNE 2014 SCORE:
Composite: 30
English: 32
Math: 32
Reading: 28
Science: 28

I am going to be taking the ACT again in September, and I hope to bring my score up to a 33.
I know that a lot of people say that it is not possible to bring your score up that much, but that simply is not true in my case. I brought my score up 5 points since from my first test. 30 was my goal this time, and I reached it!!! I am 100% positive that I will reach my next goal.

Guys I just have this gut feeling that I didn’t miss more than three on the reading, but I got a 32. Is it possible the grading of my test was messed up, should I ask for a regrade? Or is everyone experiencing the same kind of thing?

@austin23 Tbh I was hoping you were making those stats up but I think the acceptance rates for the 35 are probably higher than 12.5%. I think the 33/34 acceptance rates probably bring down the overall percentage… Still, that is an interesting statistic that makes me want to at least consider retaking. Thanks!

@falcons237 I’m in the same boat as you. I want to get a recheck because I also got a 32 on reading and I only missed like 2-3.

If you ask for a recheck can your score go down?

@aStryker97 Nope. That’s what someone told me anyway.

However, it costs $45 for a recheck.

@aStryker97
I was just remembered the statistic from the top of my head and i commented before i verified it. But still

No, guys, I think that the curve on the reading was just pretty harsh. Like I mentioned before, my February R score was 34 with 17 and 17 subscores. It’s 34 again with 18 and 17 subscores.

So probably goes
36
34 -1
33 -2
32 -3
based on what I’ve seen people say on here

So I got a 32 composite, 31.5 to be exact. I’m pretty happy, all my scores either went up or stayed the same (although the curve was mean, I got more questions right this time around and my score stayed the same) but I’m a little worried about my writing when it comes out. I wrote a pretty solid essay, i think, so I’m expecting relatively good but anything less than an 11 will make my english score go down, and theoretically, my composite down to a 31. I’ve heard, though, that the writing doesn’t affect the composite. Is this true and should I be worried?

@bg1904 my daughter got a 35 on R with an 18 and an 18 subscores this time. April got a 17 and 18 and had a 34.

@hawkace So are you going to get a recheck or are you going to accept that there was this harsh of a curve? I’m kind of lost as to what to do and I have to decide by tonight.
