***June 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

seriously though, i would only skip if i can’t narrow down to two choices

good point, i honestly feel like a moron for not doing well on math. i know the concepts but every time I take the SAT I choke under the pressure. math should be the easiest score to bring up out of all of them. my hunch tells me I improved significantly from my 530 and 540 in writing. critical reading is always a challenge. My take on it is that some vocab words that are used there (the really difficult ones) makes it almost impossible to do extremely well unless you know all those words.

@sat2014 yup I memorized 800 words a week before the SAT and got 18/19 on vocab. Now passages, thats a different story. Hopefully I missed 8 which would probably equate to a score of 690.

my gosh

I hope my calculations arent wrong for writing and math because on both I missed 2. If I miss only 1 more than 2, im screwed, since I lose 2 raw points. THIS IS SO NERVE-RACKING

SAT math is the worst! Remember it ain’t real math. I was talking about it to people the other day and honestly the sat is basically mental torture. They just put you in a room and expect you to do a bunch of logic/reasoning questions for a few hours. You just need to keep the energy up throughout the whole thing and push on throughhh

I honestly hate skipping passage based questions. i skipped 2 on the recent SAT. One was about dark matter lines 40-43 about the difference between stars and galaxies(i literally looked for 3 min straight, still couldn’t find answer!!) and i skipped one where I didn’t know any of the words that answered the question. All the choices were one word, didn’t know 4/5. I think 1 of them was satirical(something to do with satire which I don’t know what it is :(|)

can someone please help me with average type questions. I don’t really understand them. Here’s an example. The average (arithmetic mean) age of a group of 15 teachers is 40 years. If 6 additional teachers are added to the group, then the average age of the 21 managers is 44 years. What is the average age of the 6 additional managers?.

I am so pissed at myself, I got two simple questions wrong by being dumb. I thought zero was a positive integer for some reason for the question about numbers of n+n^2 lower than 70 and the one where you had to find the ratio of a diagonal of a square to its perimeter. Apparently to me 4^2+4^2 is equal to 16… GG brain, gg .

@sat2014‌

15x40 = 600 years total
21 x 44 = 924 years total

924-600 = 324 years

324 / 6 teachers = 54 years average among those 6 teachers

@Jarjarbinks23‌ thanks

@mizejonathan17‌ from the official page:

QAS: includes your response to each question and the correct answer, information about the type of question and level of difficulty, and scoring guidelines. QAS is available only for the October (Saturday), January (Saturday) and May (Saturday and Sunday) test dates.

Maybe you got an student answer service instead. That just tells you which questions you got wrong, not the questions themselves :(

No, the paper I received explicitly says “Question-and-Answer Service for the SAT” at the top… It shows the difficulty level, but no explanations. They gave me back my test though…

What test? @mizejonathan17‌

January 25th, 2014

Yeah that’s because it was in January and you got the QAS which is available in that month… You got the SAS for June :expressionless: @mizejonathan17‌

Can anyone link me to
The goohle doc? I can’t find it

Math’s the easiest section lol just know the general concepts and apply them. I get so bored doing them, hopefully I didn’t make any dumb mistakes. Honestly I got an 800 on it in 7th grade taking algebra II (trig). Reading and writing are largely a test of conformism, takes away your indivuality because different people read things differently. Hopefully I confirmed well but I’m not sure. I honestly don’t get what the sat tests other than conformism and how well yju can force yourself to confirm. I always think on questions how would the college Board answer instead of how I would answer.

I really want to get a copy of this month’s test and see the mistakes I made. I already have a set of goals for my final SAT in October. 600+ in CR 630+ Math and 700+ in writing. Gonna do plenty of studying over the summer. It’s a shame that I do so poorly in Math. All the kids I know get 600+ with ease in Math and I feel real stupid not being able to get at least a 600.

Don’t ever belittle yourself by comparing yourself to others @sat2014 everybody has their own zone and just because math isn’t yours, doesn’t mean you’re not great hugs
