@Jellybae How much of a score increase warrants a delayed score? I heard 300+ points?

@mizejonathan17 yup! I got an 1850 last time so if they delay it I’ll be the happiest person alive :D/

As much as I wish, I highly doubt I got a 2350… Probably around a 2200.

im feeling 1800 flat. 570 in CR 570 in M and 660 in W

@presque was the writing section you got a 790 on a lot harder than the june writing section?

I don’t know how I feel about this SAT tbh. I either did really badly or really well but only time will tell (hehe I rhymed)

@Jellybae Haha that happened to my friend. The first time he took it in 8th grade he got around 1800 or 1900, then he took it this year and got a 2320 and it took an extra 2 weeks.

got a 610 on my practice CR test. I score anywhere from a 580-620. score hardly ever goes up. guess I’ll need a 730 in writing and a 670 in math to get a 2000

I took a blue book practice test 2 days before the test and got a 2120. Hopefully I did that well on the real thing.

@Juggerz do you remember what you got in each section?

@sat2014 yes. 710 math 710 CR and 700 writing with 10 essay.

@Juggerz wow that’s amazing. your scores destroy my 1630 I got in May. got any tips for CR and M? writing I think i did 600+ on this recent SAT but I still struggled with reading and math

@sat2014 Thanks and sure. The first time I took the SATs I actually got a 1710, so don’t lose hope!!! The first one was no practice, then I used Kaplan and got up to a 1870 (I don’t recommend Kaplan, very fast paced with only basic info given). So I moved to using prep books. For writing I used Barron’s writing hand book, math Dr Chung’s which has 58 awesome strategies and CR just takes a lot of practice. So my number one recommendation would be to buy the blue book and take all the tests. In doing so you learn the tricks CB tries to pull in math and better understand how to answer questions in the CR section and feel more comfortable around them.

@humbugs it was in January so I can’t really remember! but I do kind of remember having an issue over one problem and thinking about it for ages (and getting it wrong) and that didn’t happen for me this June so I’m going to take a stab and say it was a little harder.

Honestly I’m just looking for a good math increase this time round. In January I had a 760 in CR and a 790 in W and…a 670 in math??? 2220. seriously if I weren’t applying for a business major and trying to break that 2300 mark I never would have taken it again arthfhf.

Wowowowowow just 1 more week

I’m sure I’ll be disappointed and get a 1790 instead of an 1800. always happens when you feel good and then see your results. Going into October for the critical reading, should I focus on vocab or just passage based questions? I’m decent with the sentences but more than likely will skip a total of 3-5 if they have words that I have no clue what they mean. Also, what’s the margin of error if I skip a total of 6 CR questions. How many can i get wrong to get a 600+?

If you’re getting more than 5 vocab questions skipped/wrong you should hit the vocab because 4 correct answers could help your score a ton. SC is easy to improve on and knowing your vocab will help maximize your score since there’s not much you can do to prep for passage based reading

In march I missed 11 and omitted 5 and got a 600.

@Jellybae missed 11 total and skipped 5? i skipped exactly 5 on CR this time although i felt like a got 2 vocab wrong and at least 8 passages based reading questions wrong. somewhere between 8-15 total. Probably 13 wrong. Every SAT is different as you know. the May SAT I did decent on the passage based questions. out of 48 I got 37 right and only skipped 3. only got 9/19 vocab with 7 difficult vocab questions skipped. come to think of it, if i got 6 more vocab questions, I could of gotten a 600+! I got a 570 on that one. They never give you an SAT with favorable vocab AND passages :P

Yeah I missed 11 total on CR and skipped 5 questions. I got 17/19 SC right, 1 wrong and 1 skipped

@PRESQUE are you trying to apply to get into top business schools like stern? Because 2200 would be great enough for most schools as it is o.0
