June 2017 Algebra 2 Regents

I did pick 11.29 for that question, but I’m not sure it was a good question. They wanted us to solve it algebraically, but obviously all of us just put it into the calculator, so when we found the intersection, it gave us x and y

it was a terrible question, on previous regents with questions like these they asked specifically for the x value, not a solution. Overall the regents had pretty awful wording and people who understand the concepts still get questions wrong because of it

How likely is it that they will not count some questions? I know they’ve done it in previous years

Pretty much 0, and I’m 95% confident in that (ha, algebra puns). But seriously, it’s pretty unlikely. They have the scale made up already, and they are so stubborn with this stuff

imo some of the questions were just really poorly worded this year!!

compared to past three exams, i felt like this one was super iffy and had some stupid questions. anyone think the same thing?

Is there anyway you could post Q5 or a link in pm please, I want to see if I picked the points because I only have the graph

Does anyone have the us history answer key?

I do agree with Q5 on there, I guess I could see Q10 on there (but not completely convinced) but Q19 was not a bad question. They asked “which are extraneous ROOTS?” They specified roots, and 0 simply wasn’t a root. Sorry, just my opinion

i agree with the post above about q19. i also believe q5 is correct because the solution of the equation is the x value, and the y value doesn’t appear in the equation. as a result, the coordinate points don’t make sense since a solution is only the x value.

also, i put 4 down for q10, whereas the right answer is supposedly 3. i was confused on that question on whether to choose 3 or 4; i originally put down 3 but then i switched to 4 as i believed they were both correct according to the graph.

i’d be grateful if someone could explain to me why they believe choice 3 is correct.

and like the poster above, this is just my opinion. feel free to (dis)agree or comment or whatever lol

@fluffybear it was choice 3 for the spinner question. The answer choice for that was something like “the spinner is likely not unfair b/c 6 failed to show up in about 20% of the trials.” The assumption that his dad made about the spinner is that it was not unfair (always assume no difference, fair, etc). The 6 failing to show up in 20% of cases (based on sim given) is not statistically significant, so there is no evidence to prove the assumption false, therefore the spinner is not unfair

On the geometry regents they gave some credit back for the mc. Is this likely for algebra2???

I don’t remember them doing that…I’m inclined to say no, as they usually would have published an “Important Notice” by now, and they haven’t

But I guess it’s too late for algebra now

What did you all get?

Oh that’s interesting…I didn’t see that. I guess there’s still hope then, the Geometry regents was before ours

I got a 94

94 is good! I got a 90 :frowning:

 jealous of everyone who already received their grade. gotta wait until the 26 to find out my score

Oh that must be torture! How come you have to wait that long?

I have to wait awhile too… NYC schools take forever and most teachers ignore emails.
