My son's registration window does not open till June 24th. I see they are holding slots in the freshman writing seminars for each group, but I don't see anything for other classes. Is it going to be difficult to get popular classes/teachers?

I’m pretty sure that they hold spots in all the classes so that the kids who have the later staggered registration date are not disadvantaged. That said, some of the most popular classes do fill up quickly and especially the first year writing seminars, so don’t delay when your window does open up.

It’s always difficult for first years (and sophomores for that matter) to get popular courses and professors. Such is life.

The only classes which are “fair” are the FYWS. All other classes are first come first serve, and if you’re the last registration group… I’m sorry. Although to be a little more optimistic, oftentimes large lecture freshman classes do not fill, or they will accommodate if they realize there is a high demand for the class (by adding another section, for instance).
