Spring 2015 enrollment windows

Spring enrollment starts on Monday, October 27. Our son can't enroll until Thursday of the following week, November 6. What type of priority does this give him? Will he be among the last to enroll?

I will register on November 5th. Freshmen have a two-day registration window.

S has November 3. He’s a sophomore. He has never had problems getting the classes he wanted at the times he has wanted. He does get up to register at 8 AM.

Smart on the part of your S, Go9ersjh. Even grad student D gets up to register at 8 am

All class years are divided into two registration groups. They alternate in their enrollment position each semester. Everyone of course enrolls in order of seniority.

My First Year D also registers on Nov. 6. I think she will be able to get most of the classes that she wants, but I wonder if her first-choice Commons Seminar will still be available.

So are the registration windows as follows?

10/27 and 10/28 1/2 Seniors each day

10/29 and 10/30 1/2 Juniors each day

10/31 all Seniors and Juniors

11/3 and 11/4 1/2 Sophomores each day

11/5 and 11/6 1/2 Freshmen each day

11/7 all Sophomores and Freshmen

11/10 to 11/14 open to all

Sounds about right. Enrollment opens again on 12/8.

I was wrong. D won’t be able to get all the classes she wants. Some are already full (even the wait list) before she has a chance to register. Commons seminars are the least of her worries now. (None of the ones whe wants are even close to being full.)

Here’s hoping for some lucky clicks in the morning, or who knows what she will register for?!?!

Same for our D, @MImama. I think it will all eventually work out. She surprisingly got off a long wait list for one class the weekend of move-in in August. If nothing else, this is encouraging her to think outside her comfort zone and consider courses like Poetry. Nothing wrong with that ….

D was quick on the mouse this morning, and got into most of the classes that she wanted (not the one that was already full yesterday…) First on the waitlist for one class, so I think she will get into that eventually. Big sigh of relief.

Quick on the mouse is very important. S has been able to get the classes he wanted at the time he wanted for four semesters in a row. It’s also helped that he hasn’t picked the small classes. He’s an engineering student so really doesn’t have a lot of options and the University ensures there are enough seats for the students that need the class.

DS got the first time slot which enabled him to sign up for everything he wanted. He had the last enrollment slot last time so this is a welcomed relief.
