June 4 SAT I or subject tests?

Hey!

I just recieved my SAT I scores for the new SAT today (a little late for my liking) and I want to retake the test (I got a 2150, which isn't that bad, but my math score was incredibley low-620 Ack!), however, I also need to take SAT II subject tests. Both are being offered on June 4th; however, I can't take both on the same day. I'd like to know which I should take on June 4th. The next testing date after that is October 8th.

Here's the info I have so far. I don't know which SAT subject tests I should take yet (but the website says I can change which up to the date of the test) Also, I should probably take the SAT II's when the information is fresh in my mind.

Also, could anyone tell me about the literature, U.S. History and German SAT II's? I've heard that the U.S. History one is easier than the A.P. Test, which I am taking May 6th (and my teacher keeps assuring me that I'll get a 5). I've also heard that the language ones are probably harder than their respective A.P. tests and are like the English writing tests, except in their respective languages (ouch!). I haven't heard anything about the English literature one.

Ooh, and I might as well throw it in: How in the world can I improve my math score on the SAT I? Will lots of prepwork help? All I did for preperation last time was take one practice test- but I have so much other stuff to do. X_x

If you read this whole thing, thanks so much! I hope you can help.

If you are at a 620, I would suggest PR for math prep. I had a 650 on the PSAT, and went to a 740 on the SAT using them. While their methods seems sort of juvenille, they do work.

Thanks for replying and congrats on your score improvement! Though I'm horrible at math, I can see that those are very convincing statistics. :D

Oh, and another question for everyone:
Is it really necessary to take any courses to prepare for the SAT II's? I mean, I'm sure I could study for the World History one on my own. I've taken 2 half year world history courses (one last year and one the year before) and I could pick up a prep book or two. But would it look bad taking two history ones?

i have heard that the literature sat 2 is harder than the sat 1 and easier than AP english (the test is reading comprehension of literature, not knowledge of literature.)
so by AP english i mean lang and comp, not lit and comp

Thanks for your reply! Sounds good; I'm pretty good at reading comprehension.

sat 2 history is very different from APUSH. It seems like you have to study a sat2 book to get over 700 in it. My sister got 4 on her AP but did not take the sat 2 because she wasn't familiar with some of the questions.

im in the same situation. on the one hand u have more time to study for SAT II over summer, which would be more productive than sat I studying. For sat u usually hit a wall and it takes tons of work to get past, while for sat II its more factual and if u know all the facts/tricks then u could get 800.
