June SAT Biology E/M Pre/Post Test

Ahh shoot I’m at -1 now

For those who took E, did you remember the one about the birds and the questions asking about why there was a shift in the time period of the caterpillars?

Did anybody get ‘plant hormones’?

peachiie i did

@ loldaniel, haha you shouldn’t be complaining about a -1

Yeah I got plant hormones as an answer…don’t remember the question though.

For the caterpillar one I said warmer spring or something like that making them peak earlier.

Does anyone remember the question that asked what proteins aren’t used for?

oh yeah… i don’t remember the answer though…

I put template for mRNA.

oh wait it was protein isn’t used as a template for RNA

I think the question said “proteins do all of the following except” and the answer choices were prevents disease, cell communication, serves as a template for mRNA synthesis, and something else that I can’t remember.

for the mice and the DEC, what’d you guys put for what the individual dots on the graph stood for?

Yeah I put the template of mRNA.

And I personally thought that the bird/caterpillar peak questions were hard!

i said smthg like the average % for a group mice given a specific amnt of DEC. choice B i think?

Can anyone confirm the phosphorus cycle one? I put the answer choice involving detergent because it just seemed wrong to me.

yeah, canbambi, i think you’re right on that one. I thought they meant some fancy kind of ecological detergent but i guess not…

I think the phosphorus cycle was already answered in the previous part of the thread.

Yay! I put the template one (nucleus acid), but I wasn’t sure if Acetylcholine is a protein.

Honestly, I thought this was on par with AP Bio MC, but it might have just seemed harder for me bc I didn’t study at all after the actual AP exam haha

Gregor Mendel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gregor Johann Mendel (July 20, 1822[1] – January 6, 1884) was an Austrian Augustinian monk and scientist, who gained posthumous fame as the figurehead of the new science of genetics for his study of the inheritance of certain traits in pea plants. Mendel showed that the inheritance of these traits follows particular laws, which were later named after him.

does this show that mendel was the first to study pea plant genetics and would that be tehr rightr answer

I only asked because people didn’t seem sure about it.
I also put template for the protein question.

I found the SAT easier than the AP Bio MC, but the curve is much less forgiving.

@altamash, the answer choice pertained to the SEXUAL REPRODUCTION of plants, not genetics, so that is incorrect.

About what is the curve in your guys view

What score would 5 omitted and about 10 wrong be… i know it’s really horribl :(

altamash - I’m not sure but that’s what I put :/

well thats one wrong for me
