June SAT Biology E/M Pre/Post Test

what other tests do you guys take?
I still have a chance of getting 800 in math II…
but for bio…im jsut hoping for 700+lol

don’t remember that one…

For E, about the caterpillar peak and the birds(?), what did everyone put for the question about why the scientists are concerned?

kim do you remember what the options were if you told me id remember. i think it was something to do competition. there was also a question like what does this show did it show like interspecies dependance?

@ Eric
About the molerat’s blindness I put the blindness mutation was favored and had an advantage.
The losing the eye doesn’t make sense because mole rats have eyes and the question was asking about blindness… not losing a body part. And all the other choices didn’t make much sense…

For E, what did you guys put for the seeds put in the dark in Experiment I (it was asking for what was tested, I said light b/c it had no light…)

And for the question about why would the scientists worry about the birds, I first had that the bird young might not be well fed, but I changed it to the bird’s migration patterns will change to adjust to the caterpillar hatching, because I thought that would worry scientists more than birds being fed :P

what did you guys say for the phosphorus cycle one?

anyone remember the one near the start of test…about protein’s charac, i cant remember the choices…

i looked it up and i think it’s the one about the diversifying sea life. got it wrong :(

i said its monomers are amino acids

^agree to the protein thing

The first question’s answer choices were use of insecticide, late migration of birds, early migration of birds, etc. I don’t remember too well tho.
The second question’s answers were not having enough food for birds, bird’s migration patterns, etc.

The third one had niche partitioning, interdependence, and three more which I forget.

is bio sat ii 750 a good score? is it ok for like rank top 20 colleges?

actually, i don’t know if i’m right about the phosphorus cycle question… anyone else?

750+ scores on subject tests are generally regarded as sufficient for the top 20 colleges. I put the last answer choice for the phosphorous cycle as well, the one about detergent and diversifying sea life.

ugh… phosphorus cycle. didn’t realize bacteria break down stuff into phosphorus

for one of the first questions like a tickbird eats parasites off of a cow or something
thats mutualistic right? the cow gets rid of parasites the bird eats stuff…

Yes, that is mutualism.

yes that’s mutualism. but was the phosphorus denitrification, nitrification, or something else?

that’s what i said

@morpheus, do you mean the nitrogen converted from atmospheric ? i said nitrogen fixing
