June SAT Critical Reading

Godfatherbob, "cloistered" was not the answer, it was "abstemious."

Also, the question about the man in line yelling at the clerk, I had a brainfart and put "gregarious" which was wrong, what was the correct answer?

And that terrible graffitti passage...

I had the same as Butternut. I know I did bad on the CR section. Hopefully my math score will make up for it.

I had a different answer than cloistered. Does anyone remember any other options?

Abstemious was one. I remember, because it and cloistered were the two I didn't know, and I took an educated guess, since I had seen abstemious before, so figured if it meant "sheltered" there would be bells going off. As soon as I left, I looked up cloistered on dictionary.com on my cellphone, and it is the correct answer.

Nope. Look up the words. Sorry :(

I put controversial for the one about the planet's moons and obstinate for the one about the congressperson and the bill?
Butternut, I had the same passages as you. :)

deadmonkey: it was obstreperous

Yes! I knew it was abstemious! HOORAY!!

Oh, yeah, there was a graffiti passage, too.

Abstemious is obviously the answer. The man only drank tea. Abstemious means eating or drinking little.

abstemious is the answer. 100% sure.

flyingpopat, i had the same format as you. Which section was the experimental math?

Does anyone remember what the sentence with abstemious was about?

Yes. It Was Abstemious. I Knew It Had To Be It.

I only got to the 'C's on my 3500 word list, but a lot of the vocab worked. I couldn't believe it when I saw abstemious on the test!

but was the answer phlegmatic or nuanced? because i looked up nuance and the doesnt match

It was nuanced. The account paid attention to the subtleties of history.

i put phlegmatic

the passages were straightforward and pretty easy to comprehend.

Are two different tests administered on one day? I didn't have any of these questions.

I had:
Ballet Passage
Yellowstone Park Double passage
Chinese Dad passage
African Queenmothers
Graffiti passage

I put nuanced. Nuance and subtlety go together, I think
