790 Math, 760 CR, and 640 Writing. Really mad about the Writing score, I'll be taking the SAT again to try to get that over a 700.

i fail at CR. lmao
my scores in march M: 7XX W:7XX CR: 5XX
lol yeah....

[points to self] stereotypical asian

BLEH... 7XXW, 7XXCR, 5XXM... wonder what my strengths are :( looks like I'll be spending the summer with my tutor. I also need to work on my CR score a lot considering that I've only improved ten points since I took the test in eighth grade. I'm going to assume it was a fluke--I kept forgetting simple words of which I know the meanings :/

[I like what the previous poster did with the XX...]

breaking the XX trend....i got CR: 720, M:720, W: 800

i should have done better on CR...

M: 470
CR: 620
W: 560

... God, I feel like such a failure...

Not very good compared to the average CCer, but decent for someone who didn't do a lick of studying:

Critical Reading: 580 (darn you)
Math: 650
Writing: 680

90+ more points to be in the 2000s!

i broke dead even 2000..but i'm pretty happy about it, b/c i was pretty down after my first scores!

650M, 650 CR, and 700W

:)

800 M, 700 CR, 680 W

should I take the SAT again because I obviously cant improve math, probably wont improve cr, but think i could add 40 pts to my Writing. is it worth it? or do colleges even consider the writing section?
and i am going to be a senior applying to colleges in the fall, and I still haven't taken any SAT II's. should I switch my october test date to sat II's?

Definitely happy in this household - in March dd got 800M, 760W and 670CR. She really felt that she could do better at the CR, so she retook in June. Well, she did - 800CR!!! But we had to laugh - Math dropped to 720 and W to 680. Thank goodness for super-scoring.

Okay, why did I think CW stood for "Critical Reading?" facepalm

I'm curious, though; wouldn't one's Critical Reading performance be comparable to their Writing?

I really want to know my essay score, though; I made up a load of BS. It was great :)

For some reason my parents were dissatisfied with my score...asian parents ftw!

(Maybe I should've done the XX thing. Ah, the perils of starting the thread.)

CR-650

Math-770

My score fell from 10 points from the 2100 I got on the June SAT. Kind of disappointed cause I thought the reading was easy and was expecting at least 2200. Oh well, Im retaking the SAT in October. Also I have yet to take any SAT II's. Does anyone know if the colleges accept the november SAT IIs for early admission?

jayzen, Im pretty sure that you can send in your application and submit your sat and sat II scores later, as long as its before their final decision (usually in mid december for early)

sumzup what the hell just to be blunt your parents are nuts if they werent pleased with your score

like at some point you just gotta say to them "how bout you go take it?"

your so close to perfect, you probably didnt get more than four questions wrong in the entire test...thats remarkable and anymore than that is just luck

Yeah...I don't think they really got the scoring system and its scaling (the whole curve thing). But they got over it, especially when my sister was like "what the hell this is really good."

And I think you're right about it being lucky; at some point, it just becomes a fluke. Honestly, I'm really happy; there's no way I would retake this (it was my first test). Colleges say that they don't care about retakes, but it would look bad, and I would possible do worse for no benefit at all.

modernchem, take them again! i took them in january and got a 660 writing score, and in june got a 780 -- not a lick of studying!!! just the mere practice and exposure to problems, plus the essay question, has lots of potential for improvement.

math: 680 (i went down!)
cr: 710
writing: 780

(2170)

Math: 720 (up from 630!)
CR: 650 (... from 640)
W: 670 (... from 680)

1370/2040

I think I want to retake to improve my CR and Writing scores. I'm happy with math, but if I studied more I could probably improve that as well. I'll be applying to colleges in the fall.

I got a 33 ACT composite, but I live on and am planning on applying to schools on the east coast, which is more SAT oriented with the vast majority of people submitting the SAT.

Math- 610
CR- 630
W- 670
Total: 1910
up from 1820 in march.....i'm somewhat satisfied
censures or comments are gladly encouraged.

HEARTBREAK!

Due to doing okay in all regular (unweighted) classes, Son's friend managed to be in the bottom quarter of the class. He was accepted to a very selective music program on the condition that he raise his SAT score. He took the SAT on the morning of graduation in a last ditich effort to meet the required SAT score. He missed it by one question. So...all these other potential music majors from our HS made it into the school but not the music program; he was talented enough to make it into the music program but not the university!
