**June SAT U.S. History Post Test Discussion**

I’m at -4 now please give me an 800 GOD!! How’s everyone else doing?

-3 from what i can remember… hopefully the curve helps

@Lovebrown yeah, and I think they would’ve listed astrology instead of mathematics if they wanted us to choose a specific answer.

@amazon, I remember that question but still no idea :(

Wait, the England competing against Portugal… wasn’t that one of the choices for the one that asked why the colonies became involved in the slave trade? Wasn’t that an EXCEPT one?

If so, I’m pretty sure the answer was that the slaves knew how to pick cotton.

They didn’t.

But if I’m thinking of a different question, then disregard this.

and at the end did anyone get that women’s moral qualities could improve politics

I did amazon.

@amazon, Yeah. That’s what I put. Was that the one that also asked who probably wrote the excerpt?

Hahaha… I put Ben Franklin. Like seriously. Wait, do we know who wrote it?

@Lovebrown yes, it was :D

@amazon oops… I put education for women as my answer choice and that John Dewey was the source of the quote

Does anyone know who opposed manifest destiny during the 1940’s? I put New England abolitionists.

are you saying oops cuz i got it wrong or b/c you think you did?

@bart2385 yep, I ruled out southn slaveowners because of the ostend manifesto

@amazon because we got different answers, lol

wait, what were the other answer choices for the moral qualities one? does anyone remember what the question was? please guys

Oh yeah, I was not sure on that one. The other groups didn’t make any sense, so I, too, put New England abolitionists. But… does anyone know for sure?

Umm, the moral qualities one was asking about the passage about women, and the choices were, like… something about education, and then the ostensibly right one about women influencing politics by having moral influence over the men. But, of course, not political influence.

Yes, abolitionists is definately right…they opposed manifest destiny b/c they new the western states were going to enter as slave, or atleast do popular sovereignty
and what was the question about 1812? (and answer choices)
@lmaozedong - lol k

@LovesBrown Quote from American Pageant
“Southern “slavocrats” cast especially covetous eyes
southward in the 1850s. They lusted for new slave territory
after the Compromise of 1850 seemingly closed
most of the Mexican Cession to the “peculiar institution.””

I think there’s indubitable proof that the answer choice is New England Abolitionist. The other answer choices would probably profit from manifest destiny as well.

@amazon- the answer had to do with taking land from britain and native americans.

thanks for the reply. was it the cult of domesticity passage with alice paul?

@chaldo - IDK.

If that was one of the choices, I didn’t pick it.

@chaldo - I think youre right… can’t remember specifically tho
