Juniata College

Worth the money?

I'm thinking of pursuing a career in Web Design and was told Juniata offered courses that'd help me on my way. What I'm wondering, though, is if there's a better college in PA for Web Design than Juniata? I'm not 100% positive that's where I want to go yet so I figured I'd check because Juniata isn't exactly cheap...

I think they give some decent aid fyi (there is always someone from my school that goes there every year since its an hour away)

An hour away? Wow, it's only about 35/40 minutes away from me.

I'm working on filling out financial aid papers right now but it's still pretty expensive. Harvard and Yale are both near the $33,000 mark which means Juniata is just $6,000 cheaper. Mind you, I could never get into either school, that's not why I mentioned them. I just thought it was rather amazing that Ivy League schools are only about $6,000 more.

Web design? You can learn that at any votech school. Go to college to learn the liberal arts, fool!

I'd probably be able to take you more seriously if you were to post a bit more maturely, especially since we ARE discussing college here, not cartoons or video games.

If you're interested in the art side of web design, not the computer science side, check out Temple's graphic and interactive media major: http://www.temple.edu/tyler/gaid.html

If you're more interested in the computer science side of designing websites, Carnegie Mellon, U of Pittsburgh, Penn State, Drexel, etc.

Juniata, however, is a very nice school but its art programs are limited in scope. I do not know much about its computer science offerings.
