Junior ap english ! Help

Im just wondering what could i do to get a great passing score on Junior ap english test!
Is there any prep study guide?
Any novels to read?

Learn to be a good writer. There’s no study guide for that. Start by reading great works of fiction, such as these:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Library_100_Best_Novels

By the way, there is no such thing as “Junior AP English”.

Finally, punctuation is part of writing well. You should brush up on that as well.

I don’t think reading great works of fiction helps significantly for AP English [I’m assuming you’re talking about Lang. + Comp.]. Read short stories and essays, and learn to analyze those deeply. Then practice conveying what you analyzed with an essay. You need to show not only depth of perception but also effective writing that allows you to demonstrate the strength of your points.

Basically, you need to know how to come up with good points and back them up.

Read short stories, non-fiction and fiction, and look for thing like tone, diction, etc.

Learn about satire (juvenalian and horation). Know how to identify it and how certain styles of writing can reveal a satirical tone.

Get prep books - my teacher used something called ‘Applied Practice’, which was harder than the actual AP English Lang test, but was useful. I don’t know if they sell it anymore.

Keep up on current events for the 3rd FR question - it’s uaully asking you to prove a point using evidence, and you can’t do that without general knowledge. Read editorials as well as straight news articles to get a feel on how to prove a point that can be useful if you get an essay like that for your test.

Finally, write. I think my class wrote upwards of 20 essays the year and planned out from prompts (no formal essay, but annotations, etc.) for about 15 more. It’s more about understanding the test and what people ask more than anything.

Hope that helps!
