[ Junior :: Chances At Rice?? ]

<p>i visited rice over the weekend, and i absolutely loved it. rice is definitely my first choice so far.</p>

<p>but...i was wondering what are my chances for admission into the school? and perhaps any other possible schools that suit me?</p>

- mu alpha theta since sophomore year
- dance since the age of 5 [ dance competitions, solos, etc]
- piano since the age of 5, except that i've taken more dedication to dance
- volunteering at my local pediatric hospital

<p>RANKING
prior to first semester, i was top 8% out of 300 students, but my current GPA probably sets me into the top 6% now...?</p>

<p>ESSAY
i consider myself to be a fairly good essay writer...it all depends on the topic though.</p>

<p>are you saying that an all girl school is "hot" as in a bunch of girls that you may possibly want to hit on or the "hot" as in the climate of Arizona which in my opinion is killer.</p>

<p>Your GPA is good, your ECs are good (but not all that outstanding or unique for a Rice applicant), class rank is good, but if your PSAT actually predicts your SAT score (201 = 2010 approx.), that could pretty much kill your chances for Rice. To be competitve at Rice, you need to top 2200 (with M+V > 1435), otherwise Rice would be a big reach.</p>
