Junior HS with BC troubles?

Hey there! Thanks for looking at this post :) I'm a junior in high school at the moment, and I've been having some grade troubles. In sophomore year, I got a C average unweighted for my Honors Pre-Calculus classes both semesters due to me skipping over a year of math (I took Alg 2/Trig, but I wasn't as up to speed). The rest of my grades were all A's, except for an unweighted B+ in Honors Chem that year. This year, things looked fantastic for the most part, but my math class is really dragging behind other classes.

Physics - A
AP Chem - A
Honors English - A
Language Class (III) - A
AP Psychology - A
Calculus BC - C+

I'm not really struggling in BC due to lack of understanding, but more due to the fact that the teacher gave us a ton of pop quizzes at the beginning of the semester, and that kind of bombed my grade. I've been desperately trying to get it up, but at this point, I think all I can manage is probably a C+ unweighted. I'm just afraid that my "poor" math grades (in contrast to my other classes) will possibly ruin my chances at applying for other schools. Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Thanks for reading, and thanks for helping me :)

Some other info: SAT: 2380 ACT: 35 and my weighted GPA should be around the 4.07 range, not applying this year's classes yet.

Hi … Well, you have fantastic test scores, so good job on that front! For Berkeley (and most other UCs), it kind of depends on what major you’re applying to as to whether or not your math grade is going to significantly affect your chances of getting in. Doing well in Physics certainly reflects well on you. Your math scores on the SAT and ACT must have been very good, so you should still be in the running.

No worries. What matters is the final grade you get. Keep up with the A’s, take care of business for Calc.
Excellent job of taking care of SAT and ACT already and fantastic scores indeed.
