On the Right Track?

<p>Hey everyone, let me thank you ahead of time for reading this!</p>

<p>I’ve been looking at both brown and yale since last year and i was just wondering if someone could tell me where I need to improve to boost my chances of being accepted to brown.</p>

<p>Sophomore at a Public School in Alaska
Full Mexican and first generation in my family to go to college
GPA: 3.9
Anticipated classes for next year :
AP Language and Composition, AP European History, AP Psychology, AP Spanish, AP French, Physics, PreCalc</p>

<p>Extra Curriculars:</p>

<p>the student representative to my district’s school board</p>

<p>student advisory board (a board with 3 reps from each highschool’s student government from our district)</p>

<p>Student Government -
Freshman Representative
Sophomore Class President
Junior Class President (recently elected)
chair positions for various committees</p>

<p>youth section of my city’s daily news paper -
Writer - Freshman Year
Editor - soph until the end of senior year</p>

<p>I think you're pretty much in. Alaskan Mexican? Jeez.</p>

<p>Well, it might also depend on your SAT score.</p>

<p>exactly... keep track of everything you are doing from now on, start thinking about your essays and future letters of rec....You have a good shot...But always remember is crapshoot at the end!</p>

<p>be sure to write about your unique condition (being a mexican alaskan) in the essay, and there isnt really any way they can turn you down</p>

<p>You look good on paper--keep up the good work! Focus on your passions/interests. It will keep you sane-and a stronger candidate for admissions.</p>
