Hi all,
i am a current junior searching for schools to apply next year. I am planning on majoring in the sciences/engineering. I have found many schools of interest that I know that i will be applying to such as NYU, Carnegie Mellon, the ivies I suppose, especially Cornell and other prestigious schools heavy stem. Recently, after doing some research, i came across this school called University of Rochester. Have any of you heard about it? i know about RIT, but never heard of this school. Is it prestigious, well-known or on the same caliber of the schools that I have in mind. It looks like its heavy stem. I am looking for some opinions on this school, before I decide whether to apply.
URoch is an excellent school! My daughter just finished her first year and loved it. Yes, it is a tier one research university and strong in the sciences, but it is also strong in the humanities, and it has the Eastman Music School. I would consider it a peer to NYU and CMU. It has an open curriculum, which appeals to many. Kids are smart but have fun as well. We’ve found Rochester to be a cool city with a lot to do. I’d do some additional research to see if it’s somewhere you could see yourself.
Based on its standardized scoring profile of a few years ago, the University of Rochester placed identically to NYU and over 100 positions higher than RIT.

@merc81 and @taverngirl How is the employee reputation of a degree from URochester, be it pre law, pre business, or engineering?
