Junior PSAT takers: How much did you improve?

I was expecting to do much better than I did. I was expecting 210 and got a 193...I'm so disappointed. Oh well it's just the PSAT, I didn't study anyway.

Soph: 169
Junior: 193

Increase of 24(0) points.

Up 27 points. 199-> 226.

Prep: 3 tutor sessions, and I went through the college board study guide.

Many people have seen a 20+ jump in the scores which is quite remarkable compared to what the collegeboard website says.

Congratulations to all on your improvements (!).

Went down 4 points. 1 wrong in each section was 234 last year; 230 this year. So I'm kind of disappointed in my otherwise good score, only because last year's was better. :/

Test prep = SAT question of the day for a few months. xD But I did better last year, with NO prep. -___-

Congrats to those of you with awesome scores and awesome improvements! I.e. everyone else in this thread. :]

Freshman 221
Sophomore 229
Junion 235

Sophomore: 218
Junior: 220

-I did extensive prep both times...Sophomore-only PSAT...junior year-mostly SAT with no PSAT prep...I improved 12 points in math, but decreased 10 in writing...

Sophomore: 206 (didn't really study, maybe a few practice tests)
Junior: 226 (studied on the last few days here and there; took the practice test the night before)

I'd just like to say that, as is probably the case with many other people, I was just 4 stupid mistakes away from a perfect score :(... Still I got CR-78 and M-80, so I can't really complain!

Soph (no study, didnt even know i was taking till 2 days before): 190
Junior (Carried over from studying for SAT and ACT, took a practice test in detention one day lol): 231

I was so close to a perfect score 2 questions, dang lol

Sophomore - 215 (CR 69, W 66, M 80)
Junior - 236 (CR 76, W 80, M 80)

A 21 point jump. I just did Sat prep since I took the October Sat. I prolly took a practice test the week of the psats. Writing is the easiest to improve - memorize some rules.

i went from a 168 to 197 almost a 30(0) pt jump.

i so wanted 205

oh well,,,,,

I improved 32 points from my sophomore year :> I'm excited, too, because I know I made NMSF.

My daughter dropped from a 215 to 206. No prep other than the practice test which she did a couple of days before. She got a 230 on that, LOL. Took the Nov SAT and got a 2230.

Reading: 63 -> 70
Math: 68 -> 75
Writing: 74 -> 76
Total: 205 -> 221

Overall, I'm really happy with the improvement. I think I owe it all to a change in reading material from the more superficial popular-fiction novels to classics and analytical news sources such as The Economist, lots of practice in math (fortified by AP Physics B and C) to prevent those stupid, careless mistakes, and a lot of independent editing practice. Of course, I can't excuse an additional year of education with better teachers and stronger peers or plain, heavy practice with SATs by Xiggi's method (outlined in this forum).

190-229 (somewhat happy, but a bit mad about math)

1 mistake in each section
780 in cr 760 in math 750 in writing

202 soph

212 jr

CR- down 1(0) point... Hmm.
Math- up 5(0) points. And to think I don't remember anything I learned in Geometry now that I'm in PreCalc
Writing up 7(0) points!!! That one I was thrilled with

So a total increase of 11(0) points. I wasn't too bummed

I did no prep whatsoever. I did the practice PSAT booklet and half attempted one practice SAT. Didn't look over any math concepts or anything..

i improved from a 177 sophomore year to a 205 this year

my total went up 46 points lol, no joke! I studied for the actual SAT inbetween my sophomore and junior PSAT's and I guess that paid off significantly on the PSAT

185-204
10char

190 to 230
I did not expect a 400 point increase!
