For my undecided classes, I'm working on getting a teacher to teach Marketing and Personal Finance.

My reason for self-studying so many AP classes is because 1) I actually want to take those classes 2) I want to get AP National Scholar and APID 3) They are all related to a possible business-related major.

Looks decent, but not excellent. College math better mean “higher than Calc BC” math, not “this is the stupid kid math class”. Could be more rigorous (i.e. tougher classes; e.g. do you have APUSH?), but under the context of your school, it looks pretty decent.

@DigitalKing College math is either Multivariable Calc or Linear Algebra. It changes from year to year, and I haven’t bothered to see which one it is yet. We do have APUSH, but USH in general is not an area I’m interested in (at all), and I don’t think it’s worth the memorization and work. What else would make it better? What APs should I be taking?

@Woandering Okay, good thing that college math isn’t what I thought it is… Well, if you wanted to boost the rigor of your schedule, you should take APUSH, but I understand if that isn’t your thing.
It’s not specifically what APs you should be taking, it’s about the rigor in context of your school. If you care about the sciences, what about higher level science courses (I see physics missing; maybe AP Physics 1&2 or 1&C?)

@DigitalKing, I’m actually still debating between AP Chem and AP Physics. Our school only has Physics C, which seems to be a little of a downfall. I hear it’s all Calculus work, which isn’t too exciting. However, if it is more well regarded, I will definitely take it. I don’t have any strong opinions about the sciences. I like them all, but I don’t love any of them. Which one would you suggest? Chem vs Physics C.

Correction, I hate parts of Biology. Lucky our school doesn’t have AP Bio anyway.

Good, but could use more honors/AP Don’t even think about slacking with college so close! xD ~_~ Choose Linear Algebra if yah can! Don’t forget to do Extra curriculars, community service,awrads and all that jazz!

I Def. approve of ur math cousres were u one of thoses kids who took Geo in 8th grade? If you were, huge props to you virtual clap =D>

And double props for self-study statistics, statistics may seem hella easy but once ur at the AP Lvl, it’s HARD. So CONGRATS! :D

@KimberlyLaila, thanks! Any reason for your comment about choosing Linear Algebra? I’m honestly confused about all the different college maths.

Well ,I’ve heard of both before but had no formal introduction intill very resently as i’m only a middle school student but linear algebra seems very cool. More than 2 Dimensions? Sweet. Algebra? Sweet. Both? THANK THE LORD! And don’t worry the best thing you can do to prepare is try to talk to college students who’ve taken it, take to the teacher,and/or get books on the subject to get ur toes wet.

@Woandering
My ordering of the difficulty of AP sciences based on the common consensus:
Physics C E&M > Physics C Mechanics > Chemistry > Physics 2 > Biology > Physics 1
However, AP Chem is also regarded as a difficult course. I would take whatever interests you more, or both if possible (if you can take both, it’ll look real good!)
AP Bio, IMHO, is the most boring; just a whole bunch of memorizing from what I’ve heard (haven’t taken it yet, so no actual experience to speak from!)
The college math classes in my area go like this:
Calc I and II (AB - BC), Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations & Linear Algebra (they’re grouped together).
Multivariable is like an extension onto Calc BC. Diff and linear are off on different tangents.

@KimberlyLaila thanks!

@DigitalKing Looks like I might change it back to Physics. I’m going to see how Honors Chemistry in Junior year goes, before I make the final decision though. Thank you!

Our school has the three different college math courses: differential equations, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra. It looks like I’m most likely taking Linear Algebra (I just checked). Do you know which one is best for business/finance? I may do a little schedule twisting to get the best one for me.

Well, typically BC should be enough for an undergrad degree. I’m not sure as to what would be the most beneficial, but Linear Algebra should be fine IMHO.
