So I am currently a sophomore that applied to UIUC for kinesiology and chose community health as a second major. I’m anxious and worried about getting in.
I attend a school in Illinois already (LUC) and am in the nursing program. I checked transferology multiple times to see if my classes transfer over and a lot of them do.
I currently have a 2.75 GPA (as a sophomore), and I’m scared it’s a bit low for those 2 majors…
My extracurriculars are good, I was involved in a lot in high school, I worked all of high school and still do in college, and I won an art award (idk if that helps at all).
As of now, I have a total of ABOUT 55-60 credits hours at LUC.
My ACT was a 25 and my high school grades were all A’s and B’s, I don’t remember the exact GPA. Right now I’m college I have all A’s and B’s but the reason my GPA is so low is because my freshman year first semester I did poorly in a class and decided to retake it to get a better grade. I had family issues that I explained in my personal statement so hopefully the admissions office looks at that. I hope it’s not something that’s stands out too much. As of now, my GPA shows growth and improvement.
I took all IB and AP classes in high school as well, sorry I forgot to include that.
I just wanted to know my chances of getting into one of those intended majors. Should I be worried or do you guys think I’m fine?
THANKS!
