I’m going to be a junior next year, and I am unsure about the classes I should take.
My class schedule that I registered for now is:
AP Bio
English 11 H
Journalism 3 News (I’ve been in newspaper for all my HS life)
Spanish 4 H
AP Calc BC
APUSH
I’m scared this might be too much for me, so I might make AP Calc BC into AP Calc AB, and APUSH into Regular U.S. History.
My senior year classes would be:
AP Lang
AP Spanish
Journalism 4 News Honors
AP Stats
AP Gov/Econ
Physics Regular (I’m too scared of AP Physics)
I’m not sure if I take out APUSH if I’ll be taking enough AP credits? But I heard at my school APUSH is ridiculous, like 20 hours of homework a week, and it’s just tedious. I want to focus on my grades in other classes, but I know if I take APUSH I can probably get an A, but it may risk my math and science grades, mainly math. I’m good at history, in general, but it’s a class of useless work.
What do you think I should do?
No, for juniors we can only take English 11 honors or regular English 11. When I’m a senior I have to choose between AP Lang and AP Lit. I got A- first semester, and right now i have a B+ second semester, but I think I can get it back to A-. A lot of people at my school say Trig/PreCalc Honors here is one of the hardest, and is harder than AP Calc AB. @popitx Thanks!
If you’re posting on here, I think you definitely have the work ethic and motivation to do it! At my school, that course load is considered pretty rigorous but definitely manageable, but it depends on your school! I say you keep the schedule the way it is. If you believe you can do Calc BC, I encourage you to stay in because it eliminates the need to take 2 Calc classes (and one that you may not be able to fit into senior year). However, if you’re concerned about Calc and Bio, do some light studying this summer and review what you’ve learned before and maybe even skim through some of the topics.
