I completely agree with basically everything on this thread haha. I’m only taking 2 APs and 2 honors classes and I have like 4-6 hours of homework a night plus volunteer work and orchestra. I feel like I’m not even doing enough but at the same time I’m doing too much, you know? Ughhh the idea of another year of high school, and worse academically… it’s driving me crazy!

Ah… This is why I love my school. This year all of my classes are “Further” classes (Math, Physics, Chem, Ancient Greek, Latin, Music) which essentially means that they are taught by whoever the head of deptartment thinks is the best teacher and they get to make up their own syllabus. For example in Physics we are working through the electromagnetism in “The Feynman Lectures on Physics.” The best part about the classes though is that because they are small (you have to apply and between 5 and 8 are chosen) we don’t have grades, but instead the teacher meets roughly twice every 6 weeks to discuss our progress and at the end of the semeter he writes about a page on our preformance to parents in lieu of a grade. Also no homework is mandatory (unless the teacher thinks you are doing poorly and need to review the material).

I feel the same way! I go to school for six hours, then I have a four hour swim practice to attend, and after that I spend hours completing homework and projects…I rarely even have time to read a book of my own choosing!!! We’ve also been discussing existentialism in my english class…not the most optimistic of views…haha
