I would like to be as competitive for colleges as possible, but I also want to enjoy high school. I have my core classes set, but I don't know what combination of electives to take.

CORE:
Bible (required)
AP Lang. and Comp.
Latin II (honors not offered)(online)
Chemistry Hon.
Math Analysis Hon. (mix of pre-calc and trig, school doesn't offer pre-calc)
APUSH (online)

ELECTIVES (any two):
AP Art History
Philosophy and Law Studies
AP Environmental Science

any suggestions are appreciated!

Well currently I’m a junior so I hope my reply somewhat gives you some insight.

Haha, I took both AP Art History and APES this year, no lie! I loved both of them. It helps if you are interested in the classes (that’s what helped me somewhat). There’s a bunch of content you are required to know for both classes (seriously, a buttload); however, the workload is really not that much. For my art history class, my teacher gave us a bunch of take home essays while my APES teacher made us take DNs (notes). Overall, although they are not the most rigorous ap classes, for today’s society, these classes should be seen as recommended, especially environmental science. I recommend taking both those electives; words cannot describe how much insight I have gained in both of those classes.

Btw, I took AP Comp this year; this class was probably my hardest ap class. It helps if you’re an extremely good reader with the ability to analyze any kinds of literature works regardless of how boring or interesting it is. I advise you get a head start. Overall, this class really helps with writing (it helped me).

Thanks Maruchan85! I briefly talked to my guidance counceler and I realized I don’t have the prerequisites for APES this year, so I think I’ll take it senior year instead. I’m probably going to end up taking AP Art History and either Honors Anatomy or Honors Physics.
