I am planning on taking 4 APs, (English, U.S , Spanish, Art history) plus pre-cal and choir. I wasn't really worried too much until I found most people I talked to said they were taking 3 or less. Even my counselor was worried for me. I just really want to get into a UC or Stanford type of school and maybe major in business. Is this too much?

None of those APs, except perhaps Spanish, are particularly difficult conceptually - they’re just large workloads. Good time management will be of great use to you and will probably be sufficient in excelling in those classes.

It would be great prep for college, but you should talk to the teachers and current students to get an idea of the time/effort per class to reassure yoyrself you can handle them all. Depending on your teacher/workload, AP English can be quite enjoyable and interesting. Good luck!

Art History is the one that you could drop without really being a sting on your apps. But if you work hard enough you’ll be fine.
