Class Unsure About, but could always replace AP Biology with: AP Chemistry
Thoughts? To tough? Anything I should switch around? How much Homework on average? Everything doable? Should my parents stop freaking out on me everyday about my Schedule?

Not too tough, definitely doable. Some solid classes there, and well balanced.

Re: Bio and Chem, it really depends on what you want to do. If you're more of a math person Chem is better, if you're more history-geared Bio might be better because there's lots of memorization.

I'm a little bit of both. I'm good at memorizing, and did in well in Biology Honors, but I'm doing amazing in Chemistry Honors with a 98% but most kids who I ask who are doing AP Chemistry were just like me in Honors and says the class is hard as hell and barely maintaining a C or B and begging me to take AP Bio. That freaked me out so I switched AP Chem to AP Bio. I didn't think AP Chemistry was that hard until I heard that, but I'm attending a new school so it may be different?

It's "too tough." You'll need to know that for AP Lang ;).

Anyway, it's up to you to decide whether it's doable (we don't know your schedule or work ethic) or too tough (only you know your abilities). You should expect to spend a couple of nights a month well into the night for those days with multiple tests. Your parents shouldn't freak out about your schedule, since they're not the ones taking it.

Don't back out of something because other people tell you it's too hard. Ask the teacher about course difficulty, borrow a textbook and skim it over - just don't let someone else's opinion sway you.

Lol I don't know why I put "to tough" instead of "too tough?" Seriously, that really made me laugh. :p (It doesn't even look right!)........... I type fast without thinking :)

Where's the "Edit Button" when I need it?

I think the edit button goes away after so many minutes.

Yup I noticed that.

I think your decision to take AP Bio over AP Chem was right -- I'm in AP Chem right now and it's killing me.

... And I had an extremely easy time in Hon. Chem. I managed a high A in that class without ever studying for anything. And so I assumed I was a natural or something at Chem ... apparently not.

For whatever reason, there is a huge gap in difficulty between Honors and AP Chem (which there shouldn't be) and that seems to fool a lot of kids into thinking that if they do super-well in Honors, they'll be able to do well in AP, too. Not so, this time I am DEFINITELY earning my A's.

Wow that was really helpful.
Thanks :)

Our schedules are almost alike.

This is what I'm going to take

AP US History
AP Chem (Taking AP Bio now)
AP Psych
Honors English 11
Honors Physics
Precalc/Math Analysis
Pathophysiology
Spanish 4

Taking AP Chem as a junior is freaking me out. The valedictorian the year before me told me that its the hardest class he's ever taken... Literally AP Bio is a joke compared to AP Chem apparently...

If I was doing 3 AP'S like you I probably would have done AP Chemistry.

Well Patho-physiology is equivalent to an AP class.

AP Bio is that easy for you?

I got high As on most of the tests and I hardly ever studied. Maybe its because my teacher taught very well. Watch out for bio-chem and energy unit. Those 2 I actually had to study a lot for.

I also recommend getting the Cliff Notes AP Bio edition. The authors name is like Pack. The books really useful and my teacher says its better then most text books in preparation for the AP exam.

I would probably take Chem instead of Bio in your case. For me, Chem is MUCH easier than Bio was. I'd consider taking Bio when you're a senior, your junior year courseload is pretty tough.

lol, for me too bio is much more difficult than chem...probably because I'm lazy as hell and don't ever bother to pay attention in class, reading my textbook or studying.

Ah well, you guys are lucky that you guys get to take 6+ classes, we're strictly limited to 6.

I'll post my junior schedule (tentative, although 99% sure) for now:

AP Chem
AP English Language
AP U.S. History
AP Physics
AP Calculus BC
...French III Honors (lmao).

and since in my school, although it isn't like the best private school or anything, 4/5 of those courses are actually worthwhile-ish challenging (from what I've heard), I guess this means I'll only be sleeping 8 hours on weekdays and actually paying attention in class next year...sucks.

Have you taken Physics before?

I didn't think AP Chem was that hard. I'm a sophomore taking AP Chem this year as my first chemistry class, and it isn't as bad as you guys make it out to be. Here's my schedule for next year, it's pretty similar to everyone else's on this thread.
