Hey all

I'm new to this forum and I have a question about what I should take next year.

This year (sophomore) I took:

Pre-calc
French III
World Lit.
World History
Biology
Chemistry

My school does not offer honors or AP in 10th grade so this is as hard as it gets.

Next year I am trying to decide between:

AP Chem
honors physics
honors english
AP US History
AP Calc
AP French IV

or substituting AP Bio for physics.

Let me know if you guys think this is possible. I have a 4.0 right now and I got 201 on the PSAT with no studying if you need any more information.

It's all up to you... We don't know your individual circumstances but you have a pretty good schedule built up there. Just don't overload and let your grades sink. Find out what the class and teachers are like before you sign up, not by being only attracted by the designation 'AP' on the transcript.

If you think you can handle it then go for the AP. Of course it is possible, its just a matter of your willingness. You might not keep that 4.0, but those APs are jewels on your transcript.

AP History, Calc, and Chem should take up a quit a nice chunk of time... if you want to take more, keep in mind how much time you'd like for other things (EC's, sleeping, hanging out).

I agree with DuckTape14. If you will have a studyhall next year go with the AP class, but if you will not have a studyhall I wouldn't do the extra AP class unless you are 100% confident that your grades will not suffer.

I wouldn't want to take AP Calc, AP Chem, and Physics the same year.
If you're good at math I don't think Calc would be a problem though.
AP Chem and Physics are tough. If you're sciency and can handle have two lab periods twice a week, then go for it. I wouldn't do two AP sciences though. AP Bio in my school is known for being intense (~150 pages of reading a night). I'm taking AP Bio and Physics. AP Bio I think I can handle because I've read the campbell book a couple times already while I was studying for USABO.

You should, above everything, avoid Physics AT ALL COSTS.

So go for AP Bio. :) You will save yourself from several suicide attempts.
