Junior yr summer: Rower or camp counselor

My junior daughter would like to row in college. Her h.s. coach advises her to row in a summer program if she wants to be noticed and recruited by college coaches since he sees potential in her. However, she has already committed to being a camp counselor for the summer. She was hoping that her rowing participation this spring and in the fall with a highly competitive team would be enough to get her recruited. And she planned on using her camp counseling experience to flesh out her college application. Her two passions have been rowing and this summer camp, which is also highly selective in its counselor applicants. She is overwrought about having to give up one of them since she wants to use both in her college application and others have told us that how a junior spends the summer months is important in college admissions.

Any suggestions on which to course to pursue?

interesting dilemma…
is there any possibility you could contact a college coach and inquire if a summer rowing experience is a necessity for recruiting possibilities?
I am not familiar with how crew teams recruit, but I would have thought that this process would have started already for current juniors…maybe someone else with some expertise in this area will post…
