<p>So my brother has been pestering me a lot about helping him make a Common Application account, probably just because he's jealous that I'm off this year and he has to wait a full year :P Anyway I told him that accounts are deleted in Mid-July anyway so it would be pointless. Does this hold true?</p>

<p>With that in mind, he told me that he could still work on it and finish it now, and save a preview of the pdf to any college (doesn't really matter) so that he'd have it next year and just use the pdf as an easy reference to just copy anything over. Should I advise against/for this?</p>

<p>Yes, if he creates an account now it will be deleted in July. He has to wait until August to make his account. It is fine to make a dummy account for practice and save ideas, word versions of essays or screen shots. No reason at all not to do that. The essay prompts change a bit most years and many schools change their supps and additional questions for year to year, but most things stay the same.</p>
