Juniors, how are you managing?

junior year would be way nicer if i had a car.

really? WOW. im STRESSING like anything...i just finished finals and im soooo nervous. idk whats going to happen...doesnt the future frighten you?

it freaks me outt way too much.

4 more months.

This year is killing me as well. I found out yesterday that my GPA dropped from 3.72 to 3.29.

^haha, i am not looking forward to finding out my GPA, my effort level has been on a steady decline for a few years now...

Haha, sounds like some people need to slow down here. Being a Junior I do get that "I wanna get out of this small town and be something" feel at points, but highschool is a really fun, relaxed point in your life. Enjoy it.

If I had a car Junior year would be tolerable. Actually, if my parents would pay car insurance for me first, I'll worry about the car later.

last semester was relatively bad....
88 in Trig
86 in Psych
86 in honors chem.
90 in us hist since 1945

-----which all equals out to a 3.375 GPA for that semester. ugggghhhhh

yeah i know easy schedule. this semester i have

honors brit lit
pre calc
honors us hist
social justice & peace (stupid religion req.)

I'm barely managing. Everyday I have to force myself to get up, and to think that I still have one whole semester to endure makes it so much worse.

Junior year IS the worst year. A ton of people get depressed around this time. If I were you, I would look into dual-enrollment options or taking classes at community colleges next year.

Lots of hard work, kind of depressing

yeah i got my first a minus this semester...and 4 hours of sleep max every night is definitely NOT what i had hoped for coming in to this year.
its TERRIBLE HORRIBLE

i think i'll be okay

AHHH junior is definitely the worst!

My classes are harder (not impossible, but I do have to try much harder and pay attention..etc) but I don't mind that as much. It's the homework I have a problem with! It's neverending! I go through the morning and I'm like yesss maybe I'll finally have ONE day of no hw..but then I get piled with stuff in my afternoon classes.
And AP exams are coming up...SATs...lots of tests so it's quite stressing. I'm NOT the best test-taker..I get pretty nervous so it's not that fun

Other than that, I have a car, amazing friends and this year it's really fun (love driving haha). So life is pretty great! Just stressing at times..but I guess I'm not really used to worrying SO much about grades, test scores because it's been pretty easy in the past..

I get so much homework and it does nothing but use up time that I could be using to crack open my ACT preparation books!

I'm a sophomore now, so do have any advice for next year?

I always thought the first 1/2 or 3/4 of senior year was the worst, and I found my junior year pretty much the same as my frosh or soph.

yea man, I totally despise these last few years of High School. As Juniors (on CC, which means we already know what colleges we like, etc), this is probably the worst year because it's like one giant tease. That's also the one bad thing about researching colleges a bit early, because you get so excited and pumped for the ultimate college experience, and then you remember..YOU HAVE 1.5 MORE YEARS LEFT IN HIGH SCHOOL. It's almost as if we forget Senior year exists, and basically have all of our secondary education planned before the middle of junior year. The worst is reading the student reviews about your favorite college, and seeing things like "the lectures are amazingly interesting", "there are clubs for everyone/everything",etc..and then you look down on your desk and you see a giant AP United States textbook with a bunch of questions to answer.

No but really, High School sucks a lot. For me atleast. Extremely monotonous, boring and downright brutal. Waking up a 5 am every morning, often having less than 2 hours of sleep because of some project given to me by an AP teacher who thinks that the world revolves around her class.
Pretty much remains that way for 2/3 of the year. Thank god for Tennis season in the spring, coupled with good weather, which makes the last few months of the school year quite enjoyable. Especially when you consider that after AP exams we do NOTHING, which means my school year is ending a month early :).

Another thing that I extremely hate about HS though, the fact that my parents have no clue about anything that relates to school, college, and leading a normal social life.

I know I posted on this thread about what I hate about my Junior year (2nd and 3rd bells). Yes, I do have a lot of homework, and I never really sleep. Yes, it's fun to complain about how sucky Junior year may be. But I feel like this thread is overly depressing. There are good things about junior year. You got to pick your classes for the most part instead of having them determined by school requirements. So you're taking things you like.
It may be 1.5 years 'till college, but it's not 4! I know it seems like a tease, you're so college-focused, but it's not happening for a while. But you're more than halfway home.

tabasco-paragraphs 1 & 3 of your post are right on for me too :/ i'm like...addicted to researching colleges for myself. it's so much fun. but like, good thing i started so early, & now it's pointless & depressing...:(

& honestly...no i can't find a single good thing about junior year...i mean, YAY the SAT is over for me...do u people know what that means?? it means i'm just about ready to start studying for the ACTs [which i'll probably take 2-3 times], the SAT IIs [at least 3 different times], the AP tests [3 of them], & i still need to kill myself over homework/studying every single night for the next 3 months. WHOO HOO dies :'(

okay, wow. it sounds so much worse when u type it.
