...Doesn't mean that it's appropriate to walk around with your muffin top hanging out or your @ss popping out of your low rider jeans. Same with the guys wearing tight shirts that reveal too much man-breasts.

Do people not have a sense of modesty anymore? I'm not saying it's wrong to be fat but it is to be inconsiderate of others.

The problem is that American's have become so out of shape lately that people think it's OK to not take care of themselves (exercising, eating healthy). Do we have this attitude about intelligence? No, students are told it is NOT okay to drop out of school. But put on an extra 50-60 pounds? Well then, you're just fine the way you are and if someone thinks it is not fine, then the problem is with them...

it’s already spring! face it, in a country where over half the population is overweight or obese, you’re gonna be seeing a lot of muffin top hopefully not too much on college campuses. But help me with this:

There’s a girl in my class who’s very bright and friendly, but to be blunt, overweight and unattractive (lots of acne and some facial hair). Her ass is always hanging out of her pants. She sits in the front and I can see it from the back row. The other day she was putting up posters on the board for a presentation and people were laughing at her and pointing. I’ve heard lots of guys make rude comments about her. Her ass is ALWAYS hanging out of those pants. maybe she recently lost some weight and never bought a belt? I feel sorry for her. She is pretty nice and obviously not aware of this. Should I say something to her privately before class?

Yes for god’s sake please do. I actually feel bad for her if she doesn’t even realize it (it’s the ones who know it and don’t care that bother me). Rectify the situation immediately.

And just because half the country are fatties does not making strutting around with it hanging out ok. If half the country stopped bathing themselves I wouldn’t want to smell them either.

It just bothers me that physical Health isn’t being pressured as much as intelligence (which doesn’t seem to be working as I feel this country is getting dumber)

Ditto. If my butt was showing, I smelled, or there was some other fault like that, I’d want to know. Some things are subjective preferences, such as clothing style and shaving or not shaving, but girls almost never want their butt showing, except when it’s clear that they’re trying to be sexy.

i usually see her in the bathroom right before class, I think i’ll casually say something to her then so she’ll take the hint. she seems to be oblivious and I feel bad people are making fun of her. I can tell she’s not really into her looks or grooming so much, she’s very smart though.

Health, schmealth. This country is made up of fatties who are indignant and stubborn about being fat. eat eat eat, sleep sleep sleep, TV inbetween. it says it in the Bible, dontcha know? if we stop eating burgers, the terrorists will win.

Well I just don’t get why being a fatty is more “acceptable” than so many other flaws. Society looks down upon the student who drops out of school because they are lazy, but someone who doesn’t want to take care of themselves physically because of laziness? Why, it’s discrimination to say anything bad about them!!

EDIT: Oh and I don’t know why I didn’t realize it was spring like a month ago… w/e my point still stands.
