Just can't find a school I like :[

<p>Hi there,
In high school I got ~2.4 GPA, but I had a boatload of ECs and a 1990 SAT score. I'm currently in community college and will be transferring next year, after 1 1/2 years of classes. Assuming my GPA is ~3.4-3.7 and I have a few ECs under my belt and some volunteer service, I've been scouting around for schools to apply to next year. I really don't have my heart set on any yet.</p>

<p>I'm looking for a "A school for a B student" situation, I think, and I just need other peoples' perspectives. I'm looking specifically at Maine (although I've pretty much exhausted all options here), Massachusetts (same), New York and the surrounding states, although I'm not ruling out the midwest/west just yet. I'm looking for a program in biology. Human genetics, to be less vague...</p>

<p>I plan on living on-campus and I'm looking for a place with really nice campus life and ECs, good people (I lean a little left if that's of any use) and, I don't know, just a place where I can be happy on-campus. I'd probably say I'd be happiest with between 2,000-5,000 people, and as long as I wasn't in the middle of the city or out in the middle of nowhere. My previous college attempts have left me skeptical. I plan on going to grad and possibly med school.</p>

<p>Alfred University (NY) private, but it is rural, but very charming village, COA is still under 40K/year. Merit Aid, Need-based aid, Division III Athletics, 2200 Undergrads, small classes-know your professors, No Greek Life, Housing available all 4 years. Nice supportive environment where you won’t fall into the cracks.</p>
