Just curious, how many people turn down Harvard?

I know that Harvard accepts roughly 9% of their applicants, but how many of those 9% decide to go elsewhere?

I believe Harvard’s yield rate is somewhere around 85%. So somewhere around 15% of applicants choose to go elsewhere.

Harvard reported its yield at 78% for the class of 2012. That was before they took a few hundred kids off the waitlist. I don’t know exactly how that affects yield, but it should raise both the yield rate and the acceptance rate.
