Just for fun...what woman did you write about?

I wrote about how i wanted to meet Doris Lessing, but I described how in order to truly understand her i imagined i would have to get to know her characters and her characters’ characters.

I wrote about the doctor in “A Thousand Splendid Suns” - she doesn’t have a name, yet she saves women’s lives daily with poor medical equipment and no support from the government.

I also wrote about Sylvia Plath!

I’m hoping they accept me because my middle name is Barnard…I wrote about how it was my “middle name” both literally and figuratively!

^awesome!

I love her poetry so much. Just, love.

And that’s a very cool middle name :p

Yes, and The Bell Jar changed my life! I wrote about how Plath amplified my feminism through her written expression and stuff.

And thanks  Just another sign that Barnard and I are perfect for each other!

I wrote about Jane Fonda!
And I love Sylvia Plath too! But after reading Bronte this year, I really wish I would’ve written about Jane Eyre. And lots of other women. Decisions decisions.

I wrote about Queen Nefertiti. All of you chose such awesome women to write about!

I wrote about Neda Agha-Soltan.

“The footage of the death of Neda Agha-Soltan6 drew international attention after she was killed during the 2009 Iranian election protests.[7] Her death was captured on video by bystanders and broadcast over the Internet[8] and the video became a rallying point for the opposition.[8] It was described as “probably the most widely witnessed death in human history”.[9] Nedā (ندا) is a word used in Persian to mean “voice”, “calling,” or “divine message,” and she has been referred to as the “voice of Iran”.Her death became iconic in the struggle of Iranian protesters against the disputed election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.” (from wikipedia for all of you who don’t know who she is)
